@Dysfnal Proxy doesn’t even need to be close to the enemy not to mention that nades are less effective than mines unless you get the nade in the middle of a group.

@neverplayserious proxy is ineffective of she’s dead (anybody with reliable aim will take her out) , or if the enemy back pedals, Fragger also has more viability without his ability, all proxy has is mobility

She only got buffed because peasants like yourself can’t play a balanced merc. And yeah, pubs are the only part of this game. Comp is dead because the game is intrinsically unfair.

The people who defend the game to death don’t hang around here too much, at least from what I can see. I’d shout about how awesome this game is from the rooftops, but I’m not going to be jumping on any grenades for SD’s behaviour. This new update, even if you don’t agree with some of the balance changes, is a step in the right direction. There’s enough meat on this to keep me going for months getting loadouts and playing with the adjusted Phantom/Thunder, not like the ReV update where it was just hopelessly plugging away for cycles, stupid RNG cases and trinkeets (Aimee is fun but I’ve barely played her in all honesty). If they dropped a map bombshell on us within the next month I’d be pleased as punch. I think your disparaging comments about SD are also pretty unfair and make your post seem rather spiteful, even if the rest of it is solid discussion.

On one particular point though, on Phantom’s EMP field: Last night I followed a friendly Phantom into the curry house on Chapel. Looking around the corner, trying to see if any cheekym7s are hanging about on the stairwell, but after a few moments there was a collosal bang and I went flying. Why? Because Phantom had disabled a mine behind the little wooden blockade at the entrance, and it reactivated while I was stood there.

I just think it’s unfair that I’ve put real money into this game by buying mercs ( fragger, Phantom, Sparks, Thunder, Fletcher + a few more ) and they’ve all been changed, completely ruining my reasons for playing/enjoying/spending cash on this game.

not to mention everything i’ve said about SD is true. you can’t argue that they’re not disorganised and lack communication with their wider community…

You were under the impression that mercs wouldnt change and get tweaks? you cant be that delusional, right?
how has that even “completely ruined” any?
Fragger’s decrease of 10hp stops you enjoying using him? or was it the 2-to 1 nade decrease from a while ago?
Fletcher’s apparent “nerf” (only applicable to noob fletcher users) - thats completely changed his character?

No. Let’s just see. Phantom - previously my second favourite merc now is at the bottom of the pile. He was previously intended for stealth, but now it’s blindingly obvious where he is due to the EMP field and the fact that SD didn’t reduce his visibility at all.

10 hp is a big difference. I can’t enjoy the feeling of getting downed stupidly quick compared to fragger’s size.

Fletcher I can’t really say much about, I just feel like I want to move over to Thunder because I enjoy him more.

Sparks is still my go-to medic but she’s not as good at it anymore, because she’s been more oriented towards self-medicating and REVIVR spamkill.

Also, I wouldn’t call a complete ability rework a ‘tweak’.

I had a mission for phantom so I played few rounds in execution with him… He feels like this kamikaze “go there, take this down and die” merc compared to his old hit and run style where he got kills everywhere but had nothing to offer for objectives.

-10 hp for fragger is a lot. Removes his ability to duel someone down just because of his health. I have had so many fights where he manages to stay alive with 1-10hp / one hit away.

Fragger has far more survivability compared to proxy, doesn’t need to get close to his enemies, doesn’t have a backpedal counter, he doesn’t even need LINE OF SIGHT.”<-I said this, but you weren’t paying attention. Beside that, I only have two mercs I only play for the sake of missions: Proxy and Vassili. I appreciate the idiocracy though, gives me a good laugh. Talk to me when you can effectively attack my argument (simply denying what I say isn’t going to do shit) instead of attacking me, because that will get you nowhere.

Competitive and ranked are two different things, look up dirty cups. That is competitive play.

You left one of my messages (that was immediately prior to yours) completely untouched, as if I never said the words, then you assume based off of my previous message that I am a noob who absolutely loves proxy. My profile picture is Stoker for Christ’s sake. I am simply defending the developers from accusations by someone who obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Phantom is easier detected by his noise than the EMP field, though he should become less visible, the EMP effect will not hinder him as much as you think.

Sparks has been nerfed to do less damage. How is that spamkill exactly?

If you don’t like Fletcher, that’s your problem, not the dev’s. Not anyone’s, just yours.

Nobody has been given a complete rework, not anytime recently. Phantom and Thunder come the closest in terms of that, and in my opinion, it’s a tweak. The EMP ability is not what makes Thunder Thunder, and it improves phantoms flanking viability, wait, let me guess, you sprint while cloaked. That’s your problem of its the case, just because you don’t know how to play a merc doesn’t make them bad.

It is funny that you complain that the devs adjust mercs, if they didn’t, dirty bomb would be a fuck fest. Everyone would play Phantom, it would be terrible.

You’re right. Nothing should EVER change. Ever. Game releases and that’s it, just like the good ol’ days when we bought the cartridge, blew the dust, and played it in all its buggy goodness.
