Thoughts on Dailies.

So, it’s been a few days playing with Dailies… and I’ve gotta say…

1: The Combat EXP takes a LOT of grinding to get anywhere (around 2 = 3 hours for me first time, never finished the objective one). Could it possibly be lowered to 10,000, or even halved to 7,000? If it’s mean to be the casual mode of gaining credits, it isn’t working very well.

2: Isn’t very clear on what it wants you to do. When I first got Objective Monkey, it said Combat EXP, so I went and fought, and was getting nothing. So I started doing objectives, and omg, it started filling. “Combat EXP” is too loose a term in the descriptions. Could this be made clearer in the description?

3: Win dailies. These are the worst of the worst, and is left purely up to chance. I found myself not having fun trying to fulfill these, and instead quit out of sheer frustration. I was no longer playing the game for fun, but to try and finish this single mission. Could it be changed to a single win? Otherwise I’m likely going to be leaving an extra 600 credits on the table every day because of lack of time to try and get 4 wins in a row (games usually taking 15 minutes per, so…)

4: Possibly change it to one daily a day, with 1800 as the reward, and allowing for 3 to be held at any one time, or possibly reroll one of the daily missions a day?

I realize this list is probably going to peeve a few people off. That’s not my intent. The dailies felt like the primary resource, especially for casual players, and was meant for people to log on about an hour or two every day and clear them to get good credits. I’d not mind some of their requirements if it was a single mission for 1800 a day, (more in line with what Heroes of the Storm does), with 3 daily quests at any one time, but as it stands, I feel rushed to fill out the requirements since it’s 3 a day, otherwise I’m losing money.

  • remove the word daily
  • reduce the number of missions to 2
  • 2 missions are available all the time, finished mission is replaced with another one on the next match
  • 14000 support xp reduced to 8000

Now, we have the half of the slow credit gain problem solved.

This would be a pretty neat idea, though I’d still keep it expanded to 3. You’d always be having something to gun for, something to do, and even if you weren’t doing them, you’re still getting small money from matches. Yeah… this could work.

We just need different type of missions. Rather than focused on the end-game result of the map, missions that involve specific playstyles in the game.

  • kill 100 enemies
  • help up 10 teammates
  • revive 80 teammates
  • deliver 2 objectives
  • repair 3 EVs
  • supply teammates with 10.000k ammo.
  • defuse 4 C4s

This could work. If the credits earned at the end of the game are raised a bit, plus this, it could diminish the grind without making the mercs too easy to get IMO.

The objectives you propose are maybe a bit too much for some, but that’s a good idea overall. More kind of missions could be cool to see.

I missclicked. Please ignore that post.

I don’t even go for the dailies, and i usually get 2-3/day!

Mashing all these ideas together…

There should be 3 mission slots, which create a new mission whenever one is completed. These missions will have 3 categories: Combat, Objective, Support.

Combat could be things like killing so many, taking out certain character classes, or using a certain class yourself to kill enemies (it would only roll for characters that you have, or have access to via free).

Objective would be attached to various objectives, such as helping cap points, diffusing and setting up C4s, etc.

Support would be reviving, healing, and giving ammo to team mates.

All of them would have the same rewards, and every time a new mission came, it would be from the category completed, so you’ll always have 1 of each, and can focus on being rewarded for the style of combat you prefer (and doing well at it), while also rewarding you for delving into the other styles as well.

the prob we dont want to see is people so fixated on doing missions for credits they dont work as a team or have the teams obj as goal. So be careful not to make the missions too focused.

In QW they made ranked mission things that got u a badge or something and so you had teammates off doing who knows, far from any helpful action, so that they could get some obscure badge or a new rank - needless to say a team thats down a guy because he isnt around has a harder job at winning - lets not see that happen again.

I agree. This is why every mission is focused on supporting the team in some way: Kills, objectives, and support. You’re always with your team in every mission, pushing, doing things that are part of… well, winning. This means that more skilled players are getting adequate rewards, but they’re not out of the hands of more casual players, and you’re constantly being rewarded for acting as a team or doing objectives.
