Thought I'd seen it all...

Then I saw a Proxy scrub calling spray and pray bunny hopping skill

You should educate them about a proper behaviour then…

…by using force!

Why do spray and pray bunny hopping when you can do aimed bunny hopping??

Because they’d have to rely on their aim…which isn’t good?

Just think it’s funny someone actually tried to claim the biggest luck based tactic in the game was skill lol

(Mr.Cuddlesworth) #5

Just outskill the flying Proxy with a facefull of Remburg

(Your worst knifemare.) #6

Still better than the ā€œcarryingā€ Vas.

(Xenithos) #7

That’s nothing, I’ve been told I’m hacking for blowing up Proxies by blowing up the mine they tried to throw at me. Wait… this is unrelated.

(Eox) #8

Hochfir spray and pray while spamming the jump button so you can hit your target even less.

If by miracle you went to hit all of your bullets, I am not sure if I can call that skill, luck, or aimbot. :#

(GatoCommodore) #9

you only need one wall jump to kill anything up to 120hp with hochfir proxy

It’s not really a luck-based tactic though? I can aim perfectly fine while bunny hopping around lol

It’s just something that takes a little practice I suppose, but it’s certainly not luck. It’s not like shooting a shotty while jumping makes your pellets go in a random direction unrelated to the crosshair.

(Artyrim) #11

As a 200 hours Proxy I wish some teleporting mines so I could put them near your pcs

(Muddy Muddy Mud Nade) #12

Ok, but what about the guy who told me that Turtle isn’t engineer and then proceeded to hide behind his shield on Dockyard instead of repairing the EV?
And yes, he was 100% serious.

It’s luck when you rely on people missing you from the hopping about and the wild spread to kill your target before they kill you…which is what most Proxy are about.

Well sure then I guess it’s luck when you rely on people missing you from moving back and forth and the wild tracking required to aim at a wiggling target to kill them before they kill you…which is what this game is about.

AKA no, it’s not luck when relying on a tactic that makes you more difficult to hit :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t really see how bunny hopping back and forth to dodge is somehow different than standing in place and pressing ADADADADAD to wiggle back and forth.

And if you fire on the ground aka after you land and before you jump again, you don’t have wild spread

And if you fire at close range, the wild spread isn’t wild enough to miss

So I’m still in the dark about the luck part of this lol

It’s the bunny hopping along with the spread that they depend on it (Why it’s called spray and pray)…they hope to get lucky with pellets flying everywhere and kill you before you kill them…

Same reason I’ve seen Proxy scrubs sneak up behind me and drop a mine to try and kill me, I mean one or two well placed shells would kill the mercs I play these easily. But that’s to hard for them to accomplish because they may very well miss.

How bad do you have to be to not be able to sneak up behind a merc with a 110 or less health and can’t kill me with a shotgun while I’m in a fire fight with my back turned? Proxy scrub bad.

Thus why I say a lot of Proxy scrubs depend on luck.

So basically you’re mad because you expect a low-HP proxy to stand still while you shoot her. Wouldn’t it be skill to track her while she’s hopping?

You haven’t played with Shotguns recently have you? Doing the ol’ flank and shotty victory is no where near as easy as it used to be. Especially not one shot…
Anyway, as per hochfir spray and pray jumping style… I happen to be the master of that on Phoenix, NOT Proxy. And I can maintain a high level of head aim because I’m usually shooting down at a target as well. I’d put the claim that if a proxy is doing the same thing with a hochfir, it’s more of a skill/understood tactic.

Shotgun bunnyhopping I’d agree is less skill and more luck though. Shotguns seem almost entirely luckbased and impulse controlled these days.

I’ve been playing Guardian…110 health…not hard to cap with 2 shells…even with my lousy aim :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t see a whole lot of Proxy with the Hoch that don’t have at least decent aim…the person I’m talking about was playing nothing but shotgun Proxy and Aura.

(inscrutableShow) #19

I mean I don’t know if it’s possible to be good at bunnyhopping, but I know that I’m really bad at it, so I suppose there could be a little bit of skill involved.

I can point you to some old bunny hopping snipers that were literally impossible to counter
