This RNG is annoying.

Im lvl 10 right now with 0 gold cards and 0 silver cards after spending all of my credits on cases.I had to make 4 silver to make a gold card for my favorite merc and guess what?I got the gun i hate and bad perks. Now i need to farm all over again for a CHANCE to get the card i want. Please do something about this.

Hi, welcome to the F2P model. Hope you enjoy your stay.
This is how they make money, if you could get everything free easily they wouldn’t make any. Stick it out and you’ll get everything eventually though.

Just go after bronze. They already did something about it by making ALL loadouts available at bronze level. There is ZERO benefit for getting a higher tiered card. It is just cosmetics.

Also, if you have a card you like, then DON’T turn it into gooey card paste when you make a higher tier one. The favoriting a card feature has been requested several times to prevent that from happening by mistake.

(Humbug) #4

just buy the card you want for 14k credits? bronze of course
no idea why you go for gold.

(ResidentDoom) #5

I already have the bronze loadouts i want.Just wanted to get a better looking one.To bad its so hard.

(triteTongs) #6

I have zero golds, zero silvers.

Having a perfectly fine time killing everyone and winning games.

I had to open about 250 cases before I got my first gold card. Before that, the only thing I got above iron was, three bronze cards, all of which I already owned, weapon and augment wise, as the founders card. Besides, anything above bronze gives no additional gameplay benefits, they just make you look cooler. And weapon and augment wise, I already owned that gold card I got, as bronze, with it being the only one of the three skin versions I don’t like.
If you don’t like the RNG, you can just buy the loadout card you want, with a bronze skin, from the store, either with money or credits.
Yes, getting the exact skin you want is very hard to grind, or very expensive, it’s kind of their buisness model, instead of being p2w. And SD have always been very open about this is the model they are pursuing.
But I would not mind the option to also buy a specific loadout skin from the store. Like buying a specific gold skin for €50 or 250.000 credits, or something.

i havent gotten a single gold card after 90 hours of play. you are not the only one, but it’s just cosmetics. just keep playing and when you finally get one, it will only feel much more satisfying.

With this option now available and now that ALL loadouts are available as a bronze card, there is no reason to complain about RNG

You want a pretty version of your favourite loadout, then get lucky. It doesnt effect gameplay therefore it does not matter

Anything above a Bronze-Tier card is strictly aesthetic. There is no specific gameplay advantage to Silver/Gold/Cobalt cards. All you’re getting with these card-tiers is different color-schemes for the character/gun models. If you want a Gold card, try saving up credits and buying the exact card you want in the store.

I got my first Silver from a case today(Skyhammer)! I’m almost level 9 and I’ve bought 5-10 cases since i started playing. I don’t think you should rely on cases to get good cards though.
Trading is where it’s at. These cases provide you with lots of useless cards that can be traded for better ones. I have 3 Silver(today’s card included) and 5 Bronze cards right now. Stop wasting credits on cases and either buy new mercs or trade up cards. As you probably realized, 1000 credits for a random card isn’t worth it.

This would be a valid point except even buying cases for actual money has the same RNG element - and, as in the OPs case, if you just spent all that effort grinding it out only to get screwed by RNG, I feel like a lot of people won’t be eager to drop cash for the same thing to happen to them.

I want the game to make money and succeed, but the random-ness could use a little work. If I’m going to drop $5 on a case for a more-than-likely silver, I want to at least know it’s going to have weapons worth using and/or be for a class I like (or at least one I actually own!)

Agree with your last part more than anything though, everyone is stricken with “I want it now!” syndrome, which will pass.

(LifeupOmega) #14

I got a gold card, finally, for a class I never play, and for a playstyle I don’t like, after hitting level 10. My partner, however, got a Golden Fletcher yesterday with decent stats, their fourth ever box opening. RNG, it’s all RNG.

(Jostabeere) #15

I don’t think this is a problem since everyone see your character with this red glow effect everytime. A little bit shining would be only problematic if the red-enemy-glow wouldn’t be in the game.

(ToonBE) #16

People should be able to get nice skins without them being rendered useless with stupid unwanted perks and weapons. This has been said many times before.

(coruscate) #17

Oh no. You are actually buying cases? Dont buy them wait for cases to drop. It doesnt take THAT long to get silver/golds if u are just aiming for aesthetics. it is meant to be a long time investment to get the card you want

(Amerika) #18

Apparently you aren’t much of a CCG guy. I personally hate the RNG that comes with card collecting. But that’s how this game runs. There is no reason to go for a Gold card and you knew full well it would be something random. Being upset that it wasn’t what you want is a bit odd considering everything you probably know about CCG’s in general and all the tradeups you had to do to get the Gold.

Just stick to Bronze and don’t spend credits on cases. Get case drops and eventually make more bronzes and trade up to silvers etc. This way you can at least have a shot at something that looks cool, keep all your loadouts competitive and you’ll most likely be able to buy a merc pretty quickly since you aren’t wasting tons of credits on cases.
