I hope you felt really dumb and insensitive after realizing this was for a charity.

What a time to be alive.

Even for charity 75$ for one t-shirt is unsual.

Idea behind charity isn’t to receive anything in the first place, but to help the person/people/organization/foundation/younameit in need. It’s merely bonus to get something.

Charity [char-i-tee]:

  1. something given to a person or persons in need; alms:

But then a charity wouldn’t say: “You get X if you spend Y”. What if I want to donate 100$ but get a shirt instead of a poster? The right way, in my opinion, would be not showing any prizes for donating and give them secretly to people who donated those amounts.

products are incentive to give money. you use them to make people give money, instead of rewarding people who give money. so instead of giving nothing, you buy a shirt with a little bit of a higher price than usual for charity. usually the prices are 5-10 euros above normal store price. idk the normal price of shirts. but guessing theyre 30 euros. wouldnt pay 75 euros for a 30 euro shirt. unless theyre limited edition. maybe then someone else would buy them

guys i know its charity… and why it costs 75€. i wanted that t-shirt, but 75€ is too much for me

The point IS, you are giving something for a good cause. What DBNation is giving away is just incentive to meet the target amount.

How much hammering in the head do you need to get that simple idea?

If you’re motivated to give to get something in return, then the charity is the wrong place for you. You’re better off going to eBay or amazon.

They allowed people to donate anonymously for no reward, but promised a reward if you gave your email/contact information, meaning people would expect a reward as incentive for donating X amount.

If you were going to donate, say, 20 euros anyway, then it would be nice to get the reward that they promised for 20 euros, wouldn’t you agree? They purposely provided incentive to motivate people to donate through a rewards system. Things like the case bundles cost something around $6-7 ingame, but you can spend $65 so that you’re donating to charity as well.

Things like the ‘Don’t be a Dick’ T-Shirt can be made through custom online order for about $20, so it’s just incentive. In addition to that, charities usually have stuff like the T-Shirts and signed thank-yous in the $5-15 range, not at $85, which is enough to buy an entire set of clothes or a few hot meals.
