I disagree with this.
Proxy is ahem pretty bad in a competitive scene, where the following is assumed…
a) Both sides have a Vassili with spotting grenades.
b) Both sides are perfectly aware of enemies thanks to Vassili.
c) Everyone can deal with Proxy the same way as a katana Phantom.
She needs to be stronger. Nerfing her abilities like that (without subsequent buffs, mind you) would be like making Rhino a 120 HP character.
The TTK is extremely fast in this game compared to TF2. Think of everything in this game as if you just given Scout’s pistol the ability to deal x2 damage headshots and nearly infinite range. It’s not like you can add elements of TF2 and put them in here.
While snipers are nonetheless powerful I don’t think that they’re so powerful they need nerfs. While their weapons are powerful they often have very marginal utility, as even Assaults do better than them in that area. The only exception to this rule is Vassili, and most players are asking for his health and/or speed to be nerfed appropriately.
In my opinion, Redeye is a combat class at the same tier as Arty and Fragger. But all he does is just that: combat. His spotting ability isn’t as good as Vassili’s. Also, he already has Skyhammer’s health and movement speed, when Skyhammer can call in an air strike that can clear areas that he isn’t even looking at.
Aimee is just… an annoyance. I do like the idea of a glass cannon (and slow moving) sniper, but to do that she needs a complete redesign (as movement speed and hitbox size correlate) and different, but more powerful, abilities. For example, if she was able to dish out 2.5x headshot damage with her secondaries, she could be a class that combos a sniper rifle and a more powerful assault rifle. That would certainly justify the glass cannon nature of her character, and justify less movement speed.
TF2 Spy has marginal at best uses in a competitive scene when there’s no Engineers to counter. Engineers in this game have something called objective specialist that justifies their gadgets being weaker than TF2’s, therefore TF2 Spy in this game would be downright useless.
