At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you use if nobody works together.

“Balance doesn’t matter I don’t want to think about it”

There’s no way you’ll ever have balance on a pub so long as everyone has different levels of skill, are not using the same mercs and or weapons, etc.
If it’s not one thing, it’s another, and typically the people who are most vocal about all this stuff are the ones who are the problem. They blame the game mechanics, class balance, team balance, etc, it’s always something. Yet whenever something gets fixed how they want, they just find something else to complain about.
Hence why I say, just play.

Try it on EV defense, and see how it goes. Or trainyard 2nd objective - you will run out of ammo, and going down for resupplying takes more time than respawning.

Have people in this game never heard of selfkilling? When you’re low on ammo you just selfkill at 1 sec respawn timer…
Not to mention that barely any decent players even have crapyard picked as a map for ranked.

1less player for a few seconds are a pain in the ass, especially when it is the only medic.

I do that often in casual games, when
Back to the topic:
What is better, switching one assault to a fire support, or self killing the whole team for getting ammo?

Yep… yep… better get full and leave your team for 20+ seconds and if your teammates are smart like that someone of them might decide to get full as well. Good times.
Turn back the clock about a year and play against Sparks, then come back and try to tell me she’s headshot OP.
Just make sure you tell me first so I can laugh maniacally as your head pops like a grape every 20 seconds
Ironically enough…it wasn’t that Sparks was essentially a Sniper Medic, it was the fact that she was a Sniper Medic with insane tanking ability that made her op.
She could heal herself to full so quick, it was a joke. That’s what made her too strong imo.
If they just removed that, and made the Revivr heal instead, that might have fixed her for good.

maybe
just maybe
its easier and more practical to bring a fire support merc when the team needs it instead of K-out to refill ammo and start from spawn and leave the team 1 less player (remember that time used traveling to the frontline also need to be counted).

Tons of scenarios in this game, but what ppl tend to forget in those fast paced shooters is that you can regroup pretty fast and it’s always better to not risk to leave your team with one or 2 down for full spawn round. This leads to steam rolling 90% of the time.
When you see 2 seconds on the respawn clock and enemies are in sight or pushing you it’s really valuable skill to self kill instead to try to look for fire support, 'cuz if you die after those 2 seconds … you leave your team 4vs5 or whatever.
Regrouping is part of the mechanics and to tell you the truth - learning to self kill isn’t easy, but necessary in dire situations. Skilled players will not kill you when you have 1 second on your clock and they see you are helpless… they will shoot you when the timer resets. It’s part of the game.

If you have a fire support, and you have to look for it, he doesn’t do his/her job properly.
Remember, the original point was bringing a fire support instead of 3rd assault, not “skilled player killing you at the right time to make you longspawn”

- Throwing an ammo pack takes so little time, there is no reason to spam those on CD.
- Placing the ammo station in a good position takes even less effort if your team is grouped, and if not, reclaiming it and resupplying the other half of the team isn’t that hard either.

@neverplayseriou care to elaborate why disagree?
You prefer pressing ‘K’ over having a fire support, or what?
Easily, why bother with a fire support when you can abuse the fuck out of the game and take double fragger/thunder…
Low level players logic:
you have to repair/escort the EV (need Vassili)
you have to arm C4 (need Vassili because he is really good/sneaky), also you need to play Vassili with the defenders if the attackers planted
you have to disable the EV (need Vassili)
ammo locations are out of the way (need Vassili)
On top of these, Vassili on defense and Vassili on offense are really useful because, you know, potatoes always help
#RestrictPotatoes
Vassili
Vasiili.
I actually agree HEAVILY that this game needs a 1 per team restrictions. overwatch made that call, TF2 made that call in a lot of servers and competitive.
I would even go as far as making every Merc free to use and have splash stop this cosmetic tied to loadouts (keep loadouts there own thing you still have to unlock) shenanigans and start doing cosmetics like CS:GO and have the game heavily focused on getting skins for all your different Mercs and weapons

This is not Overwatch. You are also forgetting the fact that players have to choose a squad of 3 prior to be shuffling into a side. Selecting your squad and living with the consequences of that choice are an integral part of the game. How would it work if literally ALL of the players in your 3 have been picked when you go to spawn, do you just sit in limbo?

Except the game is free to play and you would knacker the business model. I bought the objective whore pack after I had played a few hours in part to ensure SD received some income for making this beautiful game.
It is still easy enough to unlock at least 1 (normally 2) mercs at the end of each rotation if you chase your missions and your daily bonuses, or you can use those credits to craft some loadouts and unlock those mercs at a slower rate. Alternatively people can pay for the mercs/loadouts with money, effectively buying the game. Either way the balance is about right between giving players something meaningful to strive for (unlocking mercs and loadouts) without making things pay to win.
Focusing on cosmetic ‘upsells’ would not bring in as much revenue for the good people at SD and this would hamper development of the game. It’s not like 30m people paid $40+ US each and the cosmetic unlocks are gravy.

your right this game is not Overwatch because Overwatch is successful and so is every other F2P Valve game that got it right.
its human nature to resist change.
but removing 3 slots to just choosing an open Merc during the match would be fine, its still beta and nothing is set in stone. if you’ve ever played ranked, stacking the same Mercs on certain maps shows how awful balance can be, it needs to GO! It would be better for the game in every way.
if players need something to strive for make it craftable or achievement based cosmetics. making the overpriced Mercs free would not hurt the economy and might even encourage more people to play (god forbid) lowering the barrier to entry.
so in short separate loadouts and give us lots of customizable COSMETICS COSMETICS COSMETICS COSMETICS COSMETICS !!!$$$$£££££ ones i can buy and equip on my Merc SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY SPLASH$$$$
So in summary, you want every merc available for selection at all times, but only one of each kind at a time. Additionally you want to play dressups with those mercs.
You have described Overwatch.
Just FYI CS:GO is not free to play, nor was TF2 originally, nor does Splash Damage have a massive distribution platform to skim income off of to make ends meet. The ‘overpriced’ mercs are still free if you use in game credits, but if you can afford it buying a couple (or one of the packs) is a great way to financially thank Splash Damage for producing such a great game.
Instead, people seem content to complain about what you are given for free, and tell the developers that they need to hand you something else for free (that you could legitimately earn by playing the game without paying a cent) so that DIrty Bomb can be more like another game you like (another game which coincidentally possesses the most toxic ‘community’ of self centred dickheads ever seen in an FPS).
Sounds legit.
