Did a quick google search for reference to other games that include buying playable characters.

This guy states that playing 10 games of lol a day for 68 weeks without ever skipping a day will unlock all the characters.

Apparantly the model works considering how big LoL is.

if u dont want to spent that much time u can easly buy character u needs. i dont want to unlock all characters when my role in team will be for f.e 3 characters. in lol u need to spent a lot of time to unlock chars for free and ppl still massive play this game, competitive. if u like this free game a lot(or devs) u can buy content without be Pay to win. It works like in all f2p games with cash shop(but not p2w cash shop)

I agree Dota/CSGO does it really well.

Unreal Engine 4 will render all F2P models obsolete if it keeps growing at this rate.

They really need to get rid of that card system before open beta right now i want to try some weapons but i just cant because rng and it may take a week a month or even a year to try out all the weapons because of this system.

I guess it depends on how much time you put into it. By now im approx 40h into the game and knowing what i now know about the loadout system i prob could have tried most of the weapons.

There appears to be no difference other than skins for bronze and gold cards. atleast in my experience.

Yeah I have what I want after 10hours and i’ve been playing 20 (in steam : '). Almost level 7.

Yeah they can, Valve wants to get more third parties involved with the community market. BUT, a player market is a completely different beast to the typical F2P model with rewards for newcomers etc. They would have to change everything pretty much, so I don’t see this happening.

It looks like all weapons can be received from lead cards, and they drop really frequently so it shouldn’t take too long before you hit on the weapon you want to try.

make Weapon loadout ≠ Skin loadout and everything will go fine (Only 3 different weapon for each merc)
