stop using it and throw it in the trash please
this game is just evidence that opengl sucks
or, get a video card from a company that can make drivers that actually do what they say
OpenGL still does “exactly what it says on the tin™” Carmack’s big complaint with OGL was that it moved too slowly in adding new features due to the committee/board structure - I don’t think he’s ever said “it sucks”. It’s very capable, and is used by many renderers for good reasons - including both games and productivity/creativity tools. Also, as Nail alluded to, NVIDIA cards eat OpenGL for breakfast, and Linux too.
I’m guessing you’re an ATI owner?
You know, of all the complaints I’ve heard about BRINK, none until now have been about the graphics. Honestly, BRINK has some of the best graphics of any game that I have ever played. On full settings, I think it’s probably the most beautiful game that I’ve seen thus far.
Are you serious, Fetter? I mean the graphics are good, but the best of any game you’ve ever played? Just one example: Final Fantasy 13 was absolutely gorgeous, despite how flawed it was in almost every other aspect. Assassin’s Creed II is incredibly detailed and fluid. I’ve yet to play SKyrim but the footage and screenshots look better than anything I’ve seen in recent memory, and certainly a cut above BRINK.
It about the performance?
idtech4 and 30fps what do you expect? If you have a ATI the whole picture is complete
I think BRINK’s outstanding visual style makes it a standout title graphically, similar to how Mirror’s Edge was (rightfully) praised for its visual presentation despite not having technically advanced graphics for its time. While other games have technically better graphics (see for instance the insane lighting engine in Battlefield 3), BRINK stands out much more and is overall the best graphical presentation that I’ve seen thus far.

Suck a lovely map. Really cool visuals.
My 8800 card can run openGL games better than my ati 5770. ati just messed up bad on certain chipsets, drivers really can’t fix every card out there either…
ATI has been fecking up their OpenGL support since 2004. And it’s astonishing nothing has changed since the AMD takeover. Like it’s been said here already, nVidia tears ass with OpenGL.
