This game is great, although...

You’re looking at several hours of gameplay for a single merc with no loadout cards, or dozens of cases (at an 80% lead, 15% iron, 3% bronze drop rate) with no guarantee that the random cards, of which there are plenty, will be the one you want, or even one you can use PLUS the fee to trade them up for another RANDOM card.

I have no idea why you would think it would take very long at all to unlock things.

-3 missions per 3 hours w/ minimum reward of 500 credits each
-Daily mission bonus of 250 each for first win, stopwatch game, and objective game
-Random case drops that are more than plentiful enough to give you an acceptable loadout

Or you can pay ~12k for a bronze loadout of your choice from the store, for the preferred loadout.

I have 12 hours in this game so far, and have unlocked one merc and three bronze loadouts plus some extra random cards without the use of real money

So, if you’re being efficient but incredibly unlucky with your missions, you get
3 missions x 500 credits = 1500 / 3 hours * 12 hours of play, lets say = 6000 credits
If that were 3 hours a day
750/day * 4 days = 3000 more credits
9000 credits in four days, assuming only one set of missions per day and the minimum reward for those missions every time. That’s almost 16k per week, which is a merc every two-three weeks (24-36 hours of play, much less than some people and not unreasonable for a semi-dedicated casual player)

Don’t forget that cases drop plentifully, randomly, and for free.
500 per lead tradeup = 1500 per iron
1000 per iron tradeup = 3 x 1500 + 1000 = 5500 per bronze loadout
Or 12k from the store.
That’s less than a day’s worth of playing (or four hours of playing for the one from the store, assuming 3 hours / day), and it would take longer than a day to get that many cases. Again, it’s also assuming you have terrible luck and only get lead cards.

This is also disregarding the 24k credits you get for getting to level 4.

I like math, math likes me. And today, math says that the credit/loadout system in the game is just fine.
So i play for 60 hours and barely earn 30,000 credits so for an entire weeks worth of work i can even afford half the mercs

Play smart, not hard. Let’s say you have Saturday off and want to game on Saturday. You have your 3 missions and complete them. Check the timer. Stop playing DB and come back when your missions will refill. Rinse and repeat. That is the best way to get the most credits for the least in game time.

I don’t put time into DB to farm credits. I put time in because there isn’t another game I would rather be playing. I enjoy it and earning credits is a side thing, not as my primary goal for DB. If you really enjoy DB and can see yourself playing it for a long time, The Ultimate Start Pack is worth it(If you want to skip some grind). Otherwise take advantage of the free rotation to get a feel for the mercs that you might like.

I’m not one to pay money to free to plays, but when I feel that a game has potential I throw all of my money at the Dev teams face’s. No but really, I’ve paid $20, and I’ve learned the way credits work in this game. Do missions that refill every 3 hours I believe, and make sure that you enjoy the game itself. Most people forget to have fun rather than trying to become Ash Ketchum aka the very best like no one ever was.

When I play shooters, I make sure to try and have fun, and when I have fun I enjoy them, and when I enjoy them I do well in the game.

Sorry I’m a bit high on medication from a surgery I had yesterday, sorry if some of this doesn’t make sense.

I’ve been doing what Ardez said since the start of the mission system. Let’s put this into perspective. Kira and Rhino came out less than two weeks ago. Quite a few days after they came out I bought Kira for 50,000 credits. This brought me down to 40,000 credits as I had 90,000 at the time. So it’s been a week and a half at most since then and I am currently sitting at 110,000 credits. That means that in that time I, fairly easily, made 70,000 credits by playing the same amount of time I would normally put into the game but I, like Ardez, broke it up into time frames when I could get missions done.

I have probably 25 hours into DB during that time (about 2.5 hours a day). That means I was able to make about 2800 credits per hour of play time which sounds about right to me in how I made sure to do missions efficiently, made sure to do the “1st match” dailies and then normal credits during play of those matches.

So you do have to put in some time to get what you want but it’s not unreasonable if you do things right.

Lmao, what? I had to pay $100 for that.
You need a 10 car garage to do heists, those houses can get pretty expensive.
Not to mention you have to progress through the gta online story to do it.

My point is this.
Even when you pay for something it’s not immediately available.
Just like Dirty Bomb Mercs. If they handed out all the mercs at once, I’d honestly be pretty bored after the first month.
As stoked as I am on the game so far, I am already worried about Burnout. I find myself getting sick of the same 5 maps over and over and over and over and over again.

but… Execution mode! Dome! They are coming eventually! Get on the hype train!

That being said, MM said in a recent post(during the last 5 days) that another Execution mode test was on the way. Get pumped!

I play DB because I like objective based gameplay. It’s a pretty rare thing these days to have as a main game type. So Execution is pretty “meh” to me. And Dome…ugh, Dome needs A LOT of work.

I hope SD puts together a quick SDK pretty soon that will let those of us who can create maps to create maps and perhaps do a system similar to what CS:GO currently has for mapmaking.

That’s a reassurance lol.
