"This game is currently unavailable"

(Mikedot) #1

I’ve been having issues with launching Brink ever since the new DLC for the game came out.
First it started with having issues towards accessing the new maps, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game. When I tried to start the game from there, I keep getting this message: “This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time.”

I already searched the Steam forums for the general solutions on how to fix the “This game is currently unavailable” issue. Nothing worked.

I already searched the forums here at Splash Damage on how to re-download the DLC. Nothing worked.

I deleted and redownloaded/re-installed the game multiple times and reset my client, deleted my core steam files and everything. Nothing worked.

HELP?

I only got that for another game when they were shipping a large patch and their servers seemed to be overloaded and only for 10minutes.

Did you reinstall steam itself? Or deleting the ClientRegistry.blob?

Yes, I’ve done all that.

I already tried all that. None of the solutions worked.
I’ll try again, but I doubt I’ll have different results.

I’m really starting to get annoyed over this.
Reinstalled the game at least 5 times and it STILL wont work.

I’m going to ask you a whole bunch of information that will help me rule out a number of possibilities. I’ve put it into parts in case you need to refer to a particular section. If you can provide this information, I should be able to get to the bottom of this quickly.

Part 1
Please answer YES or NO to the following questions (just ‘yes’ or ‘no’, you can add a comment at the end of your post if you have additional information to add).

[ol]

Part 2
Please also answer the following questions:

[ul]
[li]From which country are you downloading Brink?[/li][li]In which country did you create your Steam account?[/li][li]In which language are you currently running the game?[/li][li]In which language would you prefer to run the game?[/li][/ul]

Part 3
Please can you confirm what it says in the DLC tab at:

Steam > Library > Brink > Properties

Part 4
Please confirm which Brink files you have in the following locations (screenshot is fine so long as you set the View to Details):

…\Steam\steamapps
…\Steam\steamapps\common\brink\base (specifically, the sdpk2 and sdmd2 files)

Part 5
Please confirm if anyone who uses the same PC also plays Brink and also owns the Agents of Change DLC.
