The problem is games have gotten way too damn expensive to make, and the people who work on them are often give a crap ton of work and deadlines to meet.

I can promise you it’s not as easy as people seem to think, development is a shit storm. You really gotta love what you’re working on to be able to put up with all the stress.

the current Triple A sale model is unsustainable without few hundred thousand bought the game. Thats why publisher dont release early copy anymore, they dont want their marketing flops.

Meh, publishers are run by monkeys.

With so much money, they could make buncha great medium budget games (AA games? As Cliffy B. said.) But no, it has to be a hand-holding, cinematic, interactive tech demo, appealing to lowest common denominator…

I’m shocked I haven’t bought any AAA game, since 2014…
