Bahahaha try living in Australia… EVERYTHING is privitised. Typical bimonthly gas bill is $120, quartly electricity is over $400, water is $80-100 (for 2 people)… Transport … that’s another story. If you’re lucky you can get a cattle class Tiger Airways flight for $50 return, but a typical flight between cities of about 8hrs drive away is over $100 return.

Stupid country size to population ratio is out of whack so everything is expensive.

Actually, most of the big cities are fed by government owned reservoirs and canals. Only certain cities (like the hellhole that I live in) have monopoly agreements with private water companies. And we pay about double the average price. People who live in the desert (Los Angeles) pay less and have cleaner water. So much for the holiness of capitalism…when it comes to utilities, public utilities are almost always better than private ones…

Aye, access to clean water should be regarded as a human right, not a commercial product. Do know that once a community starts moving they can get a lot done. Sometimes the water companies get kicked out but only if the people initiate.

@lyndonL indeed Austrialia is terrible in this aspect as well.
