there's not a single map I don't dread playing...

…as attacker.

I’m beginning to think Phantom can’t come soon enough, because every map in this game is unbalanced without him. Defense always knows where the other team needs to go and they have so many options for denying them the opportunity to repair, escort, or deliver objectives while benefiting from spawns that requiring covering a fraction of the distance to get there.

When I join a server attacking on Trainyard I just want to Alt+F4, especially this week when EVERYONE has access to heartbeat sensors, turrets, and Rhino.

well, to be honest attacking side is probably the easiest side to play on if your patient, just wait for defenders to set up and counter all of them. these maps really aren’t unbalenced at all. if anything you can get behind defenders as a attacker in most maps. but if it really is a problem I’m sure they’ll already be working hard to fix it!

Well, the maps are not really made for 8v8, aren’t they? 5v5 or 6v6 are completly different.
if anything you can get behind defenders as a attacker in most maps.
What maps are you referring to? Trainyard? Is that because you can “sneak” under the objective and come through the gate if they’re not paying attention and your team hasn’t closed it?

Because every other map requires you dropping down or running right in front of the defenders to get to the objective.

The only maps I think are a real struggle are Bridge and Terminal to be honest. The rest are pretty fair unless the teams are unbalanced.

(heavyRaven) #6

I think the only unbalanced map is Chapel… too much wide space to spread and pick off attackers, you can’t even use explosives to make your way through.

(Ghosthree3) #7

I actually think Chapel is extremely attacker bias, even with all the airstrikes.

look at post below

I actually think Chapel is extremely attacker bias, even with all the airstrikes.
I can see that on 5v5 or 6v6… but with my experiences on 7v7/8v8, once the EV is at the area with the repairable bridge and the mounter MG, you’re just getting shot at from all angles, it’s a nightmare, then of course there is , as you mentioned, the airstrikes, which one shotting the EV the second it gets repaired makes things even harder…

this is definitely an annoying chokepoint, the way to crack it:

 • load-up firepower on the corner of the street (including the bridge, and the upper catwalk areas)
 • push all defenders out of the other side of the street, from behind the car & mg; from the far side
 • bumrush the other side of the street, setup crossfire for areas in front of EV’s path
 • get an engineer to push the EV
