There should be greater penalty for strafing and hip firing in combat.

I think after the developer took DB into a new direction by removing the ability to effectively jump while in combat, they should also take steps to remedy strafing and hip firing. Both of those tactics, like jumping, need to add a much greater penalty to accuracy. It doesn’t make sense, for a game that’s suppose to be more tactical and penalizes user’s accuracy when jumping in combat, it should also do the same for strafing and hip-firing. It makes no sense that someone strafing and holding the fire button (instead of burst firing) has the same accuracy as someone actually aiming from a distance and burst firing.

It seems the developer doesn’t know what they want the game to be…first it was an action-shooter…then subsequent patches limited movement, ie, jumping in combat, but strafing and holding down fire button is still unpenalized. Sure, slowing down and ADSing is a much better tactic than moving after the last few patches, but at this point, the game is poor as an action shooter AND poor as a tactical shooter.

SD needs to make up their minds. I’ve adjusted to the slower more tactical pace they’ve been pushing in the last few patches, but imo, if that’s the direction they are going in, they need to take it all the way and also add severe penalties for strafing and mashing the fire button.

Thoughts?

No

This is a stupid idea just because you disagree with the jump shooting nerf, you want to take it to the extreme

I don’t like certain aspects of the jump shooting nerf either because it hurts Vassili and Rhino, but don’t push for garbage ideas to make the game worse

Bad brony, we need more games that encourage fast paced action. There are plenty of games that do exactly that. Go play them!

(blisteringOwlNest) #4

Is this sarcasm? I’m not sure. I personally don’t care about the jump shot thing, but it isn’t that bad, pretty much affecting one class (sadly) if you were jumping with any other class you were probably bunny hopping. (Yes I know, people can jump purposefully. Those people fire when they land.)

Also, SD and Nexon sent going to completely change their selling point because some people are sore. That’s silly.

Go play Arma.

Dude you’re a moron

No, I really mean that. You make a whole thread about jumping and why was it nerfed, only to have people tell you the same thing over and over again only to ignore it. Then you make this thread as if to say “if I can’t have my bunny hopping to dodge people then you can’t have hipfire”.

And sorry to throw Amerika under the bus here but

Watch that Fragger, that right there is why it was changed, because even with the spread penalty as they were it was too easy to get a lucky shot in, and too easy to spam the jump key and get results.

Strafing and hipfiring is this game’s bread and butter, jumping like a rabbit to avoid getting hit is not, even in Enemy Territory it wasn’t.

I think what @Watsyurdeal meant to link starts at 0:32 into the video. But yeah, that guy and many like him are a lot of why the whole jumping constantly was nerfed a bit recently. It wasn’t nerfed that much and it mostly only affects people who did it at mid-range. You can still get away with it a lot in CQC.

(LifeupOmega) #9

Yeah, nah, lets not.

(SereneFlight) #10

Yes. Lets just make DB a spunkgargleweewee because all shooters must be transformed into spunkgargleweewee.

(CirclesofJerk) #11

brony pls

Hold on one second while I go and learn my smokes, flash bangs and recoil for the guns…
Hang on.
This isn’t CS:GO!?

(Sinee) #14

I hope this entire post is satire and not serious.

(Jostabeere) #15

A basic mechanic should be nerfed because a mechanic you like was nerfed even if it was an annoying mechanic? Don’t think so.

(XavienX) #16

NO. How about we reverse the jumpshot nerf instead?

(bontsa) #17

Bartender, a pint of whatever this man ha…On other thought, maybe not this time.

E: Judging from @Jostabeere 's reaction, I feel to mention while my rather boring joke attempt was aimed towards the sheer foolish suggestion, it wasn’t aimed to person itself. Sorry to burst a bubble I guess? And gosh damnit did that slaughter the joke too. Damn, please.

(Jostabeere) #18

Might turn you into a brony. You should be careful.
