There are two reload icons and one of them is rubbish.
I don’t like side elements creeping toward the center of the screen but using the crosshair for additional info is great as long as that info isn’t presented in a bloated fashion. Adding SMART info to the xhair was also nice tho that seems to be gone now. Spinning may be confusing.
the problem i have with it is that it has no solid progress like the one in the bottom right. the one in the bottom right starts empty and creeps up to being full. when it’s 7/8ths the way full you’re 7/8ths the way done reloading. the middle one only sort of behaves like that. it spins around and around like a drunken chihuahua for a bit and then when you’re done reloading it disappears. it only gives you useful information when its not there.
ahhhh, yes, In the screenshot it almost looks like the same thing. I was thinking, that’s kind of cool, lets you keep your eyes near the center of the screen while seeing you’re reload progress, but yeah the way you describe it doesn’t show enarly as much info. edit: I guess at least you know you’re still in the middle of a reload, which is something.
yeah i guess the screenshot i mocked up is kind of trashy. but if you watch the newest game-play videos you can see what i mean
I actually like the cross hair one for the reason Cankor mentioned, but I find having them kinda silly anyway. Wasn’t the reloading animation enough to figure out when your done?
Turn off the middle indicator and use a dot with no spread indicator. I think it helps improve accuracy and feel each weapon’s spread rate quicker.
I really wouldn’t mind if they just got rid of the whole hud (or at least 3/4’s of it). Everything is getting in the way. The xp now starts a clicker type system in the middle of the screen which in my personal opinion looks awful. I much more enjoyed the original xp where it was green and faded from the target you hit. The original hud was much better also. Hopefully if they keep the hud like this there will at least be options to change the hud appearance.
EDIT: The circular thing on the bottom left is terrible also. We don’t need a wheel showing us which buttons to push if there are only three. The map is also crowded when it shows the names of each player above there dots. The map is really serving no purpose at all because it shows basically 5ft in front of you& no objects only enemy’s/allies. Above the map it shows who killed who & showing which weapon was used which adds to the already crowded hud and also serves no use because nobody really cares who died (esp. if they respawn 5-10 seconds later). All of this creates a oddly, terrible hud in which it seems everything is moving on your screen like gears in a machine.
I’m not a big fan of crosshair indicators, I like mine just to be, no spread indicator, reload indicator, etc.
A lot of people like turning off the weapon skin, so I guess that’s why they want the extra info.
That is a good point, I still think too much on the console side of things, not used to having those options.
If it shows me my ammo when I’m not reloading, i like it. Otherwise, I don’t like it. I know when I’m reloading. Don’t need to look at my crosshair when I’m reloading anyway.
They both have solid progress.
The one one at the bottom fills up without spinning.
The crosshair indicator fills up while spinning.
Watch the crosshair indicator in this vid as soon it starts - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLOttHhyNp8&t=4m13s
you can see it fill up while it spins.
I like the crosshair indicator.
If I’m watching centre-screen or above to keep track of enemies, it gives me more information than my peripheral view of the reload animation and the indicator at the bottom of the screen.
But it’s not complex enough to distract significantly.
And you can probably turn it off anyway.
that botton right part of the screen is a bit too crowded for my taste, i hope we can remove some stuff from the HUD
me too, hopefully it’s an option. From what I saw there was no visual indicator though, just an audible one (tick tick tick). Was I missing something?
