The War of All Wars Mod

(I3lackI-IawkI)own) #1

5 years ago… an unknown planet was discovered 120,000,000 km away from our Earth. We named it Planet 411. We sent in an exploration team, slaughtered, us after them. Most of us died. Doesn’t matter now, we fight for a new cause. For the survival of the Human race. We the Universal Combat Teams mop up the Ceruleons on their homeplanet which is basically a clone of Earth while the Resistance teams back on Earth make our homes safe. Those damn beasts invaded Earth 3 weeks ago and took Chicago. It seems like we’re fighting a lost war sometimes. I don’t know how much longer we’ll last.
-Excerpt From the Journal of Lt. Daniel Sparks

Sounds nice.

GL!

www.freewebs.com/twoaw/ we have a few concepts in our media section

So that planet is only 41 milion km after Mars??? Seems awfully close to me. On average, the moon is about 384,400 Km from Earth.

350 000 000 Km seems more like is since that would be in the asteroid belt, about halfway between Mars and Jupiter. Though I’m not sure if a planet could survive there but since they’re an “alien” race, they could have ways to stop being hit by small bodies.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out the distance

why are soo many nerds (NO OFFENSE INTENDED) telling me about this stuff!? its basicly a duplicate of Earth… and its 120 million err supposed to be… 19 million closer than the sun, i may have put incorrect numbers

(MadJack) #6

Geez… relax… if you can’t take a bit of criticism I don’t give much to your mod.

If you’d given a reason why you use that number instead offending people trying to help you probably wouldn’t get that kind of reply. A bit of intelligence is all it took to get those numbers. Here’s the URL and feed your brain a bit: http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/profile.cfm?Object=SolarSys&Display=Overview

As to your MOD keep it to yourself. It’s a theme that might spaked some interest in me but you can forget it… I can imagine what it is like to work with you.

(I3lackI-IawkI)own) #7

im actually easy to work with but when people run around and go oh your mod sucks your not scientificly correct! it pishes me off sure i can take critisism but whats to critisize? a few numbers? all we have right now are a few concepts. note: i’ve had tons of people yell at me goin “Your planet is too close, too far, blah blah blah!!!” those are numbers, who cares! your not even seeing the plot all your seeing is those numbers! what does it matter? and if your not going to play my mod over those numbers then i pity you. end of argument.

Well, Hawk, if I may jump in, I would say that if you concieve of the ‘story’ of your mod - where it takes place, what year, etc. AND you include pretty detailed info like how far one place is from another (which you didn’t really have to add if you didn’t want to), you make people think that it’s an important fact that they have to know. Then, when they determine that your ‘fact’ isn’t accurate, the general public (albeit gaming public  ) will bring it to your attention.
A hint on forum posts. Don’t jump to conclusions, or allow one person to influence your communication with another. It is easy to be misread in forums, and a bit of diplomacy goes a long way.
Here’s wishing your mod goes well, and that you can grow and learn, as we all will, from the experience.

Anyway this mod’s story and background are pretty well for me, I love the space fantasy  It is much attaractive as the World War II.

(I3lackI-IawkI)own) #10

Ahh, perhaps I acted incorrectly, my apologies MadJack.

(MadJack) #11

No probs. Hawk

(I3lackI-IawkI)own) #18

Shibby, catch me at SeanHanson9@Hotmail.Com for msn.

(bacon) #19

I think the mod needs another name. It kinda resembles what World War I was called.
It’d also be a good idea to get away from calling other planets Earth, that just shows a lack of imagination…

(I3lackI-IawkI)own) #20

wth are you talking about, your not making any sense, this isnt a ww1 mod and what do you mean call other planets earth???
