One thing I’ve noticed is that in freeplay I don’t get a chance to choose what team I want until I’ve spawned in Resistance, I feel there should be a preference option for what faction like there is for what class. Also does anyone else feel like they spawn Resistance more than Security

I would suspect (and this is purely conjecture) that you join the side to which that character is affiliated, by default. (e.g. if you picked Resistance for that particular character, you will spawn as Resistance by default).

Can anyone confirm/dis-confirm?

No, Security actually

Amish is correct. That is what happens on the PC version. You can switch teams during a match as long as the server allows it and there are enough spare slots on the opposing team.

This, If your main character is a Resistance you will spawn into the Resistance side every time same goes for being a security when you made your main character’s faction in the beginning.

Basically whatever faction you chose for your character he will join either side by default unless the faction team is filled then you are sent over to the other faction.

Whichever side you choose when you make your character, you will end up on that side most of the time unless you are entering a friend’s match, party invite, etc.

Not for xbox, I choose security and I spawn on resistance almost always

That could just be because there are already a higher percentage of Res players. I think the ratio is something like if there are 4 Sec and 6 Res you will be forced to play Sec.

For me it appears to work the way some people suggested at times (you spawn as the one you selected originally for that character the most) and as others suggested flat out randomly at others. Sometimes I get the impression it is based on the number of players within the match as when I start a new empty match and invite my party we are frequently split about 60/40 on each team and have to switch teams around to get together.
