The usefulness of EMP grenade.

Before Phantom got EMP field ability, Thunder’s conc had an EMP effect, disabling deployables.

Question is, how useful was the EMP effect? How does it stack up in competitive environment? Was Molotov/Frag/Grenade Launcher a better solution to deployable nests?

Would it’s return in a form of EMP grenade make any useful tactics?

it pretty much had one use which was assualting people camping the hp station.

present short fuse uber flash is still better as 40hp/sec heal is not enough against maximum timik/stark headshot DPS

Another thing to consider it’s balance, whether EMP grenade should disable through walls. Much like Phantom’s EMP field can currently disable through walls.

I don’t reckon the conc’s EMP effect could disable through walls. There may be a potential, if it acts parallel to hearbeat sensor, only disabling deployables, making it a different viable option in busting med-station nests.

It was relatively useless as there were basically no meaningful effects on the actual people and Thunder had no way of sneaking behind defenders for a surprise attack. It was the only thing that made Thunder usable ,though, as long as you used the stark.

What I want is for an emp effect to stop deployables from being placed for a couple of seconds after the emp has gone off in the area, like a deadzone of some sorts. Give it to phantom and he will be amazing for a push on bridge.

Honestly an EMP grande would be fantastic on Phantom, even better would be if it marked disabled gadgets on the map for your team.

That and or a Spotting Field for Phantom would also be cool.

I would love to have some emp options to be back in the game because phantoms invis just doesn’t cut it. Too many eggs in one basket.
Dislodging a aura nest in terminal first objective balcony for instance. Can be tricky.
