As much as I’d like to say Dreiss can destroy people, it really isn’t a good weapon. Yeah I know most people will preach, “If you have good aim, you can do very well with it!”, but the main issue is that the fire rate nerf absolutely destroyed the weapon.
Before, it wasn’t a broken weapon. It was a spammable mid-range rifle that rewarded good aim, and it fit people’s play styles very well. Initial spread, reduce in recoil spread, damage dropoff increase would all benefit this gun, but now I feel like this gun is restricted to those who like to be mid-range at all times. Meanwhile, almost every other weapon could be better (including Machine Pistols) than it.
And onto another weapon: SMG9. Not only is it JUST a middleground between the Crotzni and the Kek, but it lacks any real advantage compared to the other weapons in its categories. In pugs and scrims that I’ve rang for, I’ve noticed that many people moved back to Crotzni on medics because they need dueling prowess more than get-up most of the time now. I even think the Blishlok has better dueling prowess just because of its huge chunk of damage on <100HP mercs. Rate of fire is nearly irrelevant if your targets die faster with a harder hitting gun anyways. Personally, I’d increase the range of the weapon and lower the fire rate, because I feel it lacks the ability to duel at mid-range most of the time.
PDP. Why does this gun kick so high? The only person I’ve seen play phenomenally is Bitey with his crazy-dodging bullet skills. And even then I think he has a headache half the time because the magnification is so damn high. The damage on this gun is amazing if shots are landed consistently, but the problem is just everything else. It’s not dependable like the MoA. Can’t kill faster than the Felix. My solution to this one would be to have machine pistols on all loadout cards with this weapon on it, because it’s just so lacking.
Finally, the Timik. Where do I start with this gun, oh god. It has too much recoil, too little power and significantly worse spread than the M4A1. The kick is insane for the low amount of damage it has as well, and I find that a huge issue. I sometimes lose duels against pistols at mid-range jeez.
The best way to fix the Timik would to make it actually mimic what an AK is supposed to do: hit like a damn truck. In other FPS games like CS:GO and L4D2 (yes I’m serious, a freaking zombie game does the AK better than DB), the players are trading their weapons for easier recoil management and damage. HUGE damage. The kind where I can 1 tap players with armor and 2 shot special infecteds who are stupid. That’s what an AK is supposed to be.
