Recently, I read up that there was a conference being done by Splash Damage that explained that they were trying to use as little text as possible, and that they were leaving it up to the players to interpret the storyline, in there own way, giving the story through game mechanics! I have interpreted the truth, along with several of my forum going colleges online today. (will be updated once a day.)
Chapter 1
Journal of codename Anubis
2020: An island city, a project, a dream is under construction! There is a hidden purpose though. But I can’t say that, all I can tell you is this… it’s much easier to grow underwater things when your right on top of it. And a lot of these valuables can only be harvested in the far out ocean where the waves can be stopped naturally, but not totally non existent. I’m lucky I’m on the place. The production facilities are almost done…
2022: Funding was cut off. Production was slow. We had to agree to capitalize the business yesterday, sending the information in emails to rich real world money giants. Bill Gates must have gotten at least a few of them…
2023: Obviously, in order to increase money flow we had to post it on television. At least that’s what the fox news people said. We gave them an opportunity for a twenty second clip of the founder’s tower. I saw their helicopter as it flew by, blowing wind into the edge of the well crafted structure, scattering the light magnificently. We told them it was an experiment to see if we can live in luxury on the ocean. That’s only a small part of it.
2024: Several of the capitalists have set up rooms to see if they could stay here for a while. They were getting tired of sleeping on the platforms set on top of the hulls. We now have luxury sweets, and are opening the place to celebrities. Many of them. They were told that we had a secret project. They weren’t told what it was of course.
2025: Our buoyant structure is now complete. Arkoral is a great thing, isn’t it? Thank goodness for Doctor Hanson. Arkoral can do so much more. Creating a buoyant life form is hard. But doing what he did? Impressive. I’ll take a drink to that. (Oshino, you know where I’m going with this.)
