It’s not obvious enough. They still see the little progress bar and have the feeling they’re the ones making it happen.
thats a fair point they should remove the progress bar if the TEAMMATE REPAIR sign is on screen

We need this sooo much.
1 match lost because of this problem is already too much, just trying to forget ALL the times it happened.

Soon enough people would start questioning why nothing happens when they repair the EV.
simple change: you can’t press ‘f’ when a teammate is repairing.
Perhaps not so simple to implement, or they would have done it already.
NO surprise people think they are repairing - their weapon disappears and they see the progress bar increasing. How are they supposed to know its actually an engy doing the job on the other side of the EV xd
When I asked this a while ago, the answer I got was that they are worried it will make new players think they are unable to repair the objective and from then on will never do it. Seems a little silly to me, but something does need to be done about it. Heck even a lengthy message saying “two people can not repair at the same time” would probably do the trick.
Instead of : "Hey, look. He is repairing. Let’s cover him.
We get this: “Hey, look. He is repairing. Let’s just do what he does and get us all killed.”

If nobody is repairing an objective they could setup a “hint” system for new players that has their character say they should try to repair an objective that isn’t being repaired. Also, a repair course similar to the current course we have could easily explain this.
The current system is definitely a, “it works good enough for now” thing that requires no more dev time as opposed to a solution/intended.
I don’t think it should come up as a pop up saying a teammate is repairing and you are not helping.
What should pop up is a defend icon above the person repairing and players should be given extra XP for getting kills while defending the person.
Better to give an incentive for defending.
Add this in the game and tutorial already
The message should simply tell the player what happened and what to do.
“An engineer (A mechanic) is already repairing faster than you. Stop repairing and cover them.”
It’s not obvious enough. They still see the little progress bar and have the feeling they’re the ones making it happen.
I still like the more drastic option of dealing damage over time.
Just something small, 1 damage per second, with a big red bloom at the side of their screen so they think they’re dying. If I get shot I jump away from the EV and try not to die. They might do the same
I just had a guy get super pissed off at me because I (amy) didn’t help him (Rhino) simultaneously defuse to make it go faster… he was flaming up a storm.
The guy was level 9… you think he’d have learned by now but nope.
The game really needs a better indicator.
