You’re looking at the glass-half-empty side of this. Not everyone will be getting what they want, but more people will be happy with the outcome than if everything were purely random as has been with previous events
You still have to do your part. Just keep the mercs you want in squad and play. Proxy sure as hell isn’t going to lose if people just give up on the other mercs.

Way I look at it is that Proxy is a newb Merc…people play her for suiciding mining and bunny hopping shotgunning…things that are based on luck that at times can even get lucky enough to catch even some of the more veteran players off guard.
Odds are Proxy or Fletcher will win…
Really, lets just enjoy the fact that Splash Damage did something different that actually makes players play a whole lot.I’ll be happy with any merc as long as the card itself is not bad.

I’ve got three friends who adore Proxy gameplay to death… two of them can only play her with the shotguns. The other uses cricket bats and mines. She’s amazing. However, I just hope out of spite that the culprit and obsidian cards they get aren’t Remburg…
I feel like I’m a bad friend here, but I just can’t get behind playing Proxy like them.
Plot twist they release Turtle and hes the real culprit while our culprit was framed. But yea kill all the Proxys

Proxy is the most easy to pick up merc for the new pubber and it’s why everyone flocks to her, her drop and forget ability, her easy mode shotgun with a backup machine pistol, it all makes sense that all the people with little ability to actually play well would use her.
And, unfortunately, it’s why we’ll only get a card for her or Vas.
I can’t see people favoring Vaseline. Sure they will play him for 1-2 days until they figure out they are horrible with him swap to another merc. If he does win I can see a lot of people complaining that he won despite them helping his numbers.

But… but… I’m good at Proxy. I win with Proxy. I like my head.
If Proxy does end up being the culprit, a rivalry like this would be SO COOL
After today’s session I’m pretty sure it’s going to be Vassili. Alternatively for a moment I have jumped to an alternative universe where he’s a week 1 suspect. 5/12 Vassilis.
