The Protector... Warden [Merc Idea]

(omega) #1

Think Warden as a Riot Shield merc, with weakness against most air support abilities and grenades, But excels at closing in and protecting objectives and teammates (and pretty much counters snipers).

Info

Warden is also a medieval enthusiast and her armor is similar to modern day armors, Phantoms armor and medieval armor, which is also why she uses the strongest melee weapons.

The armor has different layers, soft and flexible first layer, more Kevlar like second layer and more ceramic/steel type of third layer that is on the top.

Weapons

Warden uses POSOL in all her loadouts, to avoid creating 1 handed animations (1 hand wielding, shooting and reloading) to more secondary weapons.

Depending how Warden is balanced, if the shield + SMG combo is too good, the SMG could have reduced accuracy or increased recoil while shield is up, which could also apply to Last Change.

Bren-12 is a modernized Bren light machine gun, with some parts that are similar to Pecheneg LMG.
POSOL-2000 is PP-2000 but without the front grip and with more covered parts above the barrel.

Nothing is set on stone and all stats can be altered, weapons can be replaced (like replacing the POSOL with Tolem and Bren with shotgun or smg) and the character design and personality are also changeable.

Drawing…

Yes, I know I am terrible at drawing… very terrible

And i know she does not look like female, but realistically a medieval based armor on women would look almost exactly the same as it looks on man… which is hard to find examples because revealing armors are more popular but closest example is Brienne of Tarth.)

You thought of this very maticulously… I love the idea, though I’d refrain from using her melee options until SD fixes the hitbox on those.

Also, she’s nore or less Turtle but offensive right? I do like the sound of that.

Thank you, glad to hear that.

SD did few fixes to the melee hitboxes in the last updates… i mean they are not perfect fixes, the kukri still misses a lot if you do not hit the opponent in very wierd angles.

Currently the best hitbox is with the Katana, possibly because it is the longest of all melee weapons but it still has some odd hitbox errors.

However the melee weapons are always easy to replace with… knifes i guess.

Technically yes, in a sense that the shield works like Turtles (Stopping bullets and projectiles but still letting players and melee attacks through), but is carried like a riot shield, is smaller and it regenerates when it’s not in use.

One thing I would do is sorta nerf her POSOL… Having a machine pistol that strong while you’re near invincible or almost incapacitated just sounds OP. The Bren could use either a damage, RoF, or accuracy nerf, so it’s on par with the Blishlok, but with better suppressive ability, and a fatter magazine.

POSOL is, somewhat made to be better than other secondary SMG because Warden is the only one that can use it and it’s in all her loadouts (Like Phantom was supposed to be with his Katana until Kira got one).

However the accuracy is one thing that could be worse while shield is up, or that the recoil gets higher faster when shield is in use, the accuracy or recoil downside could also be active when Warden is incapacitated.

The Bren is obviusly LMG, as Warden only has LMG’s as primary. Just like the K-121 the Bren will have high recoil (or actually even more higher recoil to compensate for the damage and DPS) and low accuracy on sustained firing.
