The Point of Outfits?

An age old debate. People who don’t really spend much money on games, vs the people who don’t mind supporting the developers and dropping a few dollars because the game is “Fun” and they want to give back. I think the iAP in this game is great. The only thing I can’t get(and don’t have) is costumes because they just cost too much for what they are. Why would I buy a costume for 60 rad bucks when I can buy several guns or another 2-3 toons for that. I bought all the toons, some doubles, I bought all the guns, some doubles and I got both expansions. I now sit at level 40 with lots of cool stuff and don’t regret any of it. Can’t wait for a new toon to come along! I’d love to see more ways to get rewards though, gold and rad, but I’ve mentioned those all before in dying threads.
Roar dont totally agree with you there… In Rad Soldiers you can EASY make money and BUY everything in due time except for the expansions. In Fact if you play daily and regularly you can make huge amount of money and buy what you wanted. In Clash of Clans the entire game is based on using Gems to get an advantage. In Rad Soldiers you can WIN without ANY advantage… So no Im not Biased, Gems ruined Clash of Clans for me.

Warchest has done it wonderful with Rad Soldiers with their buy ingame options. I even SPENT real money to get the expansions which I have never done in any free game till date…
I concur to mr. Sandman’s argument. Period.

It’s not like that in my opinion. I am a developer and I love to give back to developers. I bought both expansion packs same day I downloaded the app. I’d LOVE to pay (even more) for more maps, game modes, new characters (I mean, not achievable through game) but buying something that I could earn playing feels like cheating to me. That’s all. Costumes are a different story. They are just too much expensive.

I feel that way, too. OTOH, I was afraid I’d get bored playing over and over with the same toons as I earned the coins/Bux to get more So I spent some money and got a nice mix of toons to get started. I’ve enjoyed earning the coins since then. (Oh, and as a long-time PC gamer the money spent still made RS seem like a tremendous bargin.)

I also liked the expansions - coins from them felt a bit unfair, but the challenge/reward cycle was a lot of fun.

I agree with the sentiment that the outfits are too expensive. They strike me as conspicuous consumption… Or, less cynically, a nice symbolic reward for someone who donated money to the devs. Like a logo-ed tote bag you might get for donating to a charity.

Though I do find myself tempted by the Halloween package. :). I may hint to someone it’d make a good gift.
