the paid packs

The invitation is very generous and most welcomed but it doesn’t negate the questions for us or those who are going to purchase into the founders club. I think it does need to be made clearer what’s going to happen down the line to avoid some backlash for those who purchase up front.

To be clear I’m not saying this is wrong in any way, only that I feel it’s worth putting the question out there now because it’s certainly something I was wringing my hands over.

I’m pretty sure it says on the website that this stuff will only be available through this deal. So you’re paying for the exclusivity.

I also think the prices are so high to guarantee this exclusivity. As you say you wouldn’t buy it since it’s so expensive, so when somebody is it’s more exclusive.

Saying nobody is going to buy it is wrong imo. Look at kickstarter…

Oh I think people will buy it. My question is that when you look at it you are pretty much paying a premium for that exclusivity and alpha access. Once the game launches though, are those people going to be satisfied if $300 buys them pretty much all released content for the next year or two?

I really have nothing to contribute to this thread, but I just must say that the site you created, is ALOT cooler than anything I’ve EVER seen!! The 3d feeling and the things moving at different pace etc. JUST AMAZING!!!

Never stop being amazed of you and your artists!

Well, the same sort of thing applies to MMO’s, when they feature a “lifetime fee” offer. Pay a couple hundred bucks, and never have to pay the monthly fee. If someone drops a couple hundred bucks on one of these packs and never pays for anything else, that’s still hundreds more SD got than they would have.

Well, seens people are forgeting the avaliable payd options:

$30
$60
$120
$240
$320

(there is even a free option)

Not only 240 & 320.

And what the heck is an average-Joe? Like if money garantees you are an exceptional-Clark.

Not that i believe maths is a good way to measure people, but many famous genius matematicians, living or not, would go for the 30$, couse is the money they have avaliable… Those junk average-joes!

That’s not my point. You drop a few hundred bucks and then DB presents more things to pay for, albeit optional, when it’s released. You’re not getting all unlocks for a year, or free “pro gamer” service etc. Once the exclusivity of the alpha/beta access has worn off you’re left with a pricey special edition of the game. Are those people going to feel a little cheated when 20 other character classes are made available? Possibly at less than the price they paid for 5?

I’m just playing devil’s advocate here. Just saying that it would be nice to know up front what you are NOT getting in these packs besides paying to get into the Alpha and making a very generous contribution to SDs development of DB.

I think that most people who would buy one of those packs, are doing it more to support the devs, and less for the goodies they get.

I would hope that is true but I am also very cynical about people’s motivations at times.
