The new Team Skins Feedback Thread - Version 20076

I like the floating icons, but they defeat the whole purpose of having a map IMO.

Can’t we have a simple solution about this ? Look in Blacklight Retribution : they have a wall hack activable by pressing a key. Why not make the same here with the floating icons ? Push a key to know where your objectives are, then release it to get a clear view of your battlefield.

It’s a win-win IMO.

Why you like the floating icons ?

(RasteRayzeR) #43

Because they give a clear and direct view of all your objectives. That’s extra information that I actually use (mainly as a medic)

That is actually a cool idea. Not that i like icons, but it would be something different. Not sure if it is a feature of another game and would therefore be completely new. Although, i prefer just the minimap and the commandmap to have the objectives and you have to find your way through the map by looking at the minimap or the commandmap. The commandmap is seemingly not yet implemented (only the minimap), but i wouldn’t mind trying this with the icons. It could be made look cool actually in that every soldier gets a head accessoir in the form of a computer-eye. If turn down everyone can see you are in icon mode, if turn up you are in normal mode.

They should only give an icon when there’s a call for a revive and health + ammo packs
the rest of the objectives are known after a couple of played matches.

yes, I agree. Yet for pubs it will be a great help. Maybe we could get a slider in the options determining the level of details for which you get icons and indications in your field of view.

i think the teams should look completly different!

like it is atm its not good

Turning back to DB: I like the IFFs on teammates only, as a FOPS or medic, as you can easily see who needs your stuff. it would be maybe even better to supply your team if you could set automated low health/ammo reports for teammates, resulting in color-change in IFF font plus sending the matching vsay.
Note: a delay from being shot to low hp and sening this vsay would be needed, though, as everytime someone gets killed he’d cry medic.
This helps recognize low health/ammo teammates in firefights, when they have no time to use vsays.

But still pls remove iff for enemy team.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to scre4m. again.

This would be ace, automatic turning to yellow of friendly IFF for medic/fops so you can do your job without relying on people to spam for assistance.

I think it does turn yellow automatically right now at some point( correct me if I am wrong). Yet this value is unknown(to me at least) and cannot be modified.

Especially a customizable automated vsay would help much, as you cannot always have all players in mind when you are busy and a vsay alerts you that you are neglecting your job as a med/fops.

Maybe we could even go further into detail and make it possible to use a different iff color for manual vsay ammo/health demand and another color for automatic sent ammo/health demand ( as if you were able to set the value to 60% ammo/health e.g. what is no reason to run away instantely and help, but signals you that you have some time to cover a more dangerous situation.

As we are already talking about IFFs and alerts: Another thing I miss is a way to allert engis/solis to complete the objective. There is some command in vsay, but hey, who actually cares about this. you should be able to mark an objective for your objective class to signal that it is safe and he shall go on and complete the objective.

NOTE: yes, I did notice that we are going slightly off-topic ^^
