i keep getting kicked for hacking ever since that update…for no reason, its so bad its making me feel like instead of looking for hackers it just kicks random people. this needs to be fixed because it screws up the game and i can barely play.
The new Nexon Game Security sucks.....
Obviously it’s gonna have issues, it has just been recently implemented. Just have some patience and it will be fixed.
It kicks people for nothing while not kicking probably still quite obvious cheaters. Yes, it’s probably in development.
Lets simply hope it’s not only a new start-up-logo, but that it collects data, and will be better in getting rid of cheaters in weeks, than the old one was in the last months.
Btw: Still missing some E-A-S-Y report-function.
You should put more emphasis on “new”, and remember that this game is in open beta, you should be expecting lots of bugs and errors. In this phase of development we’re not just gamers, but also game testers, it’s our job to identify and make known these issues, and this one is very common already. I understand the need to vent but you could easily post this as an extension of a thread already existing on this topic instead of cluttering the forums more than they are.

They are working on that too. As always: Patience is virtue
Yesyesyes I am beeing patiente since http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/comment/16961/#Comment_16961 , but plx, plx, plx, don’t look at the date. THX!
Atleast it’s working. Multiple “hack release” threads on various forums are swarmed with “OMGEH, this new Nexon shit banned me!!!”
Yeah, I really like this too, if it’s real. Still imo, it took a damn to much very very long time, too. Sry!
Edit: Btw: Still something is mis… wait… you already know…
Atleast it’s working. Multiple “hack release” threads on various forums are swarmed with “OMGEH, this new Nexon shit banned me!!!”
That and the multiple “I got banned” threads we’ve had on the forum (though closed/deleted pretty fast) make me very happy. Hacker tears are the sweetest. Hopefully it isn’t false-banning, but until it happens to someone I know or one of the forum regulars I’ll assume it isn’t!
I’ve gotten it a couple of times myself. Hopefully, by the next update, they will have had enough logs fed to them that they can track down the issue and get it all working without an issue. It’s one of those things that you just sort of need to be patient with even if it’s frustrating.
The whole NGS thing is a joke. I’ve still seen obvious hackers. Some of them even admit it in chat, and do nothing at all to hide it. I’ve also seen legit players randomly kicked by the system. In my own case NGS crashes now and then, and I’ll be kicked from games every few minutes until I reload, so no matter what I lose all mission progress, or force my team to 4v5 for a while from being booted for no reason. The anti-cheat is absolutely counter productive.
I did read the patch notes and they didn’t have anything informative about the anti-cheat. Yes, they asked for short term patience and are supposedly confident it will do well long-term, but that doesn’t really mean anything.
I can understand hackers still existing, it is after all a free to play game. But for legitimate players to randomly be kicked? For the new anti-cheat to crash regularly? It’s not like there’s any legitimate reason for this to happen. It’s not like they ever gave any reasoning to why it’s just kicking people for no reason.
They’re just saying empty, nice-sounding things for damage control. It’s extremely obvious the new anti-cheat will end up being a non-factor like the old one. And for the time being it’s actually even worse than the old one for how it aggressively boots anything but obvious hackers.
Don’t get me wrong, I play a lot of Dirty Bomb and heavily support the game, but that’s why I’m saying all this. This is feedback I want them to take into account. It’s obvious this NGS thing was haphazardly released and poorly conceived.
Products don’t improve by keeping quiet and taking everything they give you and just hoping for the best. That’s what a sucker does.

It’s one thing to offer constructive criticism and it’s entirely another to say the sky is falling and claim that the AC will be a “non-factor” because it’s crashing sometimes for a few people in it’s first week of existence with Dirty Bomb. They asked for patience and warned us that there would be issues. And there are some issues. You need to understand that there is a difference between testing software among a small amount of machines and thousands.
GTA5 had one of the best PC launches of this generation of games. Guess what? It still had tons and tons of bugs despite having rigorous testing for literally years. That’s how it works. This could be said about mostreleases and patches for almost all games on the PC and consoles. It doesn’t mean it was “haphazardly released”. It was actually in place for months which has been mentioned multiple times on the dev streams. But only recently did it come online. Also, this is only the first part of it as they are doing something similar to Fairfight (but not doing the auto-ban stuff).
Also, stuff happens.
Well just got the crash kick for the first time. Sadness, I was doing so well
As of now, I’m pretty pleased with the current state. I got kicked a couple of times as well, but that’s mostly due situationnal bad broadband, which seemed to disconnect my client.
If you get repeated crashes, I’d call for some conflicts between your usual softwares and the AC, which is somehow normal with such early state communication based tools. So check your firewall and stuff, create exceptions, and keep your computer libraries up to date. PEBKAC are well known bugs in early life programs as well. For those who played some PB protected games back in the days, issues are still lower with NGS overall.
Players, including long time supporters urged them to death to add a new AC asap. There you have it. And now they have the totally legitimate excuse of “open beta state”. I feel this is totally ungrateful to blame them for releasing it too early. I guess they were unwilling to do so. But DirtyCups on hold and the quite great numbers of vets leaving recently just forced them to be premature about it. Sorry but those two factors sounded to me like an awful ultimatum.
At least voices lowered about cheating. I have not seen one yet, and probably most of us too. This allows us to do MM again. Which is quite a big step forward still.
