So since there has been a lot of discussions about merc prizes, grinds etc. lately. I tried to figure out a solution.
The Merc Chance Pack.
This pack is cheaper than a merc (half the price of a standart merc so 15.000c) BUTT it will grant you a RANDOM (except the starter) merc. When you get a merc you already own you get half the admission price back (7500c).
And if you want the specific merc you can still buy it.
What do you think?
Marvel Heroes does something similar, though if we were to lift the system directly, the random box gives you a “hero”, and if you have them, you get a token that increases their ultimate. In this case, you’d get an equipment box with gear for the hero you just got, though this could be used to guarantee a gold card, or even silver, rather than just giving a random weapon set, or some credits.
Unless you are just starting to unlock mercs and/or don’t care which one you get, this has a very poor return on investment: I can either unlock the actual merc I want or get 2 (3 for the high price mercs) chances of randomly unlocking it with odds of 1 : N - 2 (where N is the number of merc released)? No thanks, I’ll pay the full price and get what I really want…
yeah but where is your problem you can stil buy the merc you want directly for the standart price. That is not a reason to NOT put it in there
I’m just saying I’m not sure it’s a scheme worth implementing. Then again I’ve never been much of a gambler and I’m pretty good with probabilities so perhaps I see this too rationally… I guess there might be people willing to run the risk of getting nothing to save a buck…
I’d say this would be okay if the chance pack cost 25000 and gave you back 5000.
for 25.000 you can nearly buy the merc you want o_o
WIth the chance pack you trade in the 100% chance to get what you want for a reduced price.
for 25.000 i can buy the next merc in a day, i gain nothing.
And why do you want to pay so much O__O
