Introduction:
As the lines pass, the road flows… time has come once again… for Splash Damage… inspires many more than just us… its more than we can count on… the mappers of Enemy Territory inspired BANANAS :banana: … what would we do without Splash Damage? what would be do without q3map2 or qeradaint? WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT QUAKE 3?

Poem:

Mappers rule
They are cool
More for pool?

Mapper’s Story:
It was a dark, and stormy night. Not a map was stirring… not even Sock :moo: … but then Santa dropped a package in Sock’s sock… The package had lettering on it, saying: To Sock, From Santa… the package was an evenlope… in the evenlope was a letter, saying:

Dear Sock :moo:
We all know that Splash Damage created all these maps… how about you all think about creating another one?

Comedy Story:
I was makign my map when suddenly i was sucked into the portals of the editor… walking my way out the void i fall forever never to return… i see my building that i created that had entities and doors that only axis can open… the building hit me and i ended up in the map, Goldrush. i was running… stealing the tank… then stealing the brushes to put in my map :rolleyes: … i saw someone… it was… nobody… i was then transported and went into the heart of editor… i punched this button the ground and my map started to compile… i was being sucked into the bsp process and vis… almost blinded by the light process… then i was in my chair…thinking… what happened?

Moral: Never try to be perfect while mapping :wink:

  • You look at the stairs at work/school, and you think: “Those steps are good looking. Nice brush-work!”.
  • You look down when you are walking across town, thinking: “Ah, that asphalt/stone road would be a perfect texture”.

Umm sounds like you need to chill out, whats more scary is that my name was mentioned in this poem of magic mushroom madness! :wink:

But in answer to the original question, SD are not planning at the moment on making anymore ET maps. Its up to the user community to fill the current gap … but maybe a few breaks from the editor may come in handy once in a while … like toilet breaks, washing breaks, food breaks! :wink:

i really think the best mappers out there should all get to together and do what SD can do, since SD is a group of great mappers and scripters, the outside community i think has same qualities if we can just find the right combination of people.
