The many possibilies of the smoke grenade

The smoke grenade is something rather marvelous, and puts Redeye into a very good support roll.

Here are some scenarios in which I found it useful:

  • Stop up a chokepoint as enemies either run through it with no prompt of where the enemy is and get ambushed or move around it.
  • Put it right up against a defender front and allow your team to move past it
  • Scatter a defensive nest as they move to a more optimal position or become useless in the smoke
  • Cover an engineer as he does an objective of any sorts
  • Use it on a carriable someone dropped for a quick snatch away, even under enemy fire
  • Distract an enemy group as they look towards the smoke
  • Piss off snipers
  • Waste explosives or force someone to move to an explosive class
  • Smoke a camping enemy and cut them with the kukri
  • Use the smoke and IR with a turret to make yourself a less vulnerable target

was my fav when i played redeye for like one day.

hes a bad vasilli and his smoke is kinda silly and useless cause one explosion will totally negate it. on top hes got shit weapons and even worse augments.
i mean even if nobody goes to bomb the smoke away, you have such a small time window to make your move and during that time you dont even have any weapons to deal significant damage?

He’s a really cool class but I feel like he’s sorta in a weird spot. The smoke is pretty cool until you realize that dragged and Nader can clear it. And his smoke sorta encourages him to play up close but all his weapons are long range. Yeah this does leave him as a wired support role where he smokes objectives and goes for long range kills

The Dreiss is capable in close quarters and if you’re quick, the GSR can work in cqc as well.
