The maintenance.

What did this maintenance do ?
Like for real it was fine before but now whenever I play I keep having lag/teleportation while my ping is at 25.
It’s so fucking annoying I can’t do shit. I wanted to play to make Stoker grab some hours to beat that Proxy but I definitly can’t touch the game as long as this is happening. Anyone got an idea of what this is ? or what to do?

(Fractures) #2

did they make phantom more invisible lol

I have to agree, that it’s more laggy. For example people fall down half a second after I get the kill message and kill me.
And on rare occasions when I blew myself up as Fletcher, I dies half to 1 second later after the explosion.

I was on a server today where there were two players that had crazy chopping. Chopping that was so bad that I’d never seen it quite like that in DB in all my time played. It was only those two people and one of them definitely had a rubberbanding ping (he was going from 55 to 110) but the other guys ping seems more consistent.

So it might just be a coincidence but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on stuff on my side of the world because that’s way out of the norm for US servers in my experience.

They did server maintenance on the Nexon servers, so i can only assume something somewhere was installed wrong. Maybe server upgrades since all of Nexon was down… If something was installed wrong or configured wrong it will probably be fixed soon, as its probably happening in other nexon games.

I mean, crazy rubberbanding with a ping of 110 is really weird aswell, isn’t it?

(doxjq) #7

Rubberbanding shouldn’t happen with a stable ping. I can play on Asian and US West servers with a stable 140ms fine. I think I can even play on US East with 220ms without warping.

(SereneFlight) #8

I remember this one server maintenance which left everybody (at least in EU servers) getting horrible ping for a good while.

(Brain_of_Britain) #9

Doesn’t this always happen for a few days after an update or downtime? I’m sure it will solve itself within a couple of days at most.

(ImSploosh) #10

I thought this was just me. I play Vassili a decent amount and generally don’t have trouble getting on top of the scoreboard, but today, I yesterday (after the maintenance), I felt like I couldn’t hit anything! I would aim right at people’s heads and nothing… I also had a lot of cases where I clearly shot someone, only for my teammate to get the kill. It’s hard to explain. It was just really strange.

It definitely didn’t feel normal and I thought I was just going crazy and it was all imaginary lag!

this update has basically broke my game !

since this update pings for servers and listing of them dont refresh as fast and pings seem higher.

also today alone my game has closed 4 times through security violation.

this needs fixing.

(SamillWong) #12

Just came out from a game where my ping spiked to nearly 600-700ms.
Literally f**king unplayable, my character kept on teleporting around the map, my teammates are running into walls indefinitely.

Not sure if it has something to do with the maintenance, but I’ve not experienced one of these lag spikes for quite some time already.

(MilkyBear) #13

Can confirm the lag, even my ping is 30, i have seen people rubber-banding all over the maps. Being killed behind the wall is ways more often.

SD and Nexon, get your shit together.

Something may be up. I doubt all these players had either a crappy internet connection or were playing in the wrong region:

No, not if it was 110 constant. They’d be perfectly fine. But this guy was going from 55 to 110 which means they probably not only had packets coming through at various timings which throws off the antilag drastically but also had dropped packets which goes even further in screwing up the antilag and online play.

Last year I played on Euro servers with 150 ping and it was super stable. The only issue I had was delayed kill messages due to them not being synced with my clients antilag and some wonky wall jumping physics. But the actual gunplay was pretty good. I wouldn’t want to play over 150 ping though as that seemed to be the threshold for consistent play. I play on EU servers pretty frequently these days after changing ISP’s so I now either ping 95 or 120 depending on where the server is located and I’m perfectly fine with those pings.

I’m going to go play in a bit and see if anything is up. I can hop on EU too.

This update really messed up something…my ping doesn’t seem so bad, and servers are full of late kills, teleportation, etc…
Its annoying getting back in cover and 1-2 seconds later i drop dead… maybe new feature: heartfailure or stroke?..

(pumpkinmeerkat) #18

Played against one high ping player (200+) who appeared to be moving normally but was only visible intermittently (chopping?). It seemed very different to any teleporting/warping/rubber banding I’ve seen before since their motion was predictable but their character model would only show every other second or so.
