The Limey look?

sheeet i eould perfer my lahti 20 mm. but the usefullness? i mean sure one shot and your chest is gone but combat effectiveness?? i cant carry that damn thing!

(Shadowcat) #62

I’m just returning to my original statement that pump-action can do anything that a breech-loader can do while holding more ammo and being easier to reload. Even as a super-short point-blank sidearm.

(its al bout security) #63

heh heh prolly but… if you have a real long breach loader with a choke, your gonna be able to shoot much farther.

ive never seen a pump shotgun that did one of two things

 1. didn’t jam. if not often just often enough to get you killed

2.had a long barrel/ they exist but the pump action has to compensate for an ejector pin and making a real lengthy pump action can be a problem for the reciever in the long run as the shells may not come out right and so fourth.

i have shotguns so old they dont really have a manufacturer. well they did but they are so old that guy is dead and no one knew his name.

(Shadowcat) #64

I see your Lahti 20mm and raise you a 40mm machinegun

(I don’t actually own one, though I doubt I could afford to shoot it if I did)

Anyway, I will give you the barrel length and reliability. I suppose you could compare breech loaders to revolvers, which have similar niches.

Edit: i just realize how far off topic we have gotten over the last few pages…so here is a picture of a british police officer breaching a door with a shotgun

(its al bout security) #65

i recycle my brass, and order lead. i bought a bullet mould. i make a 20$ plus bullet like 50
cents? plus its really a hastle to buy illegal stuff… well its not illegal for every one

i see your 40 mm but ill raise you 95 mm to a Huge artillery. (now the trick is to mount this on my shoulder!)

(its al bout security) #66

condensed crazyness. the xm-25 in here will be in cod so i might just have to get it to insatiate what its like to shoot one myself

(Smoochy) #67
I found a pic of the Limey look with a couple of players in SMART action while shooting!

LOOKS SWEET!!! I guess this verifies that dual-handguns are in the next DLC too!
hot fuzz is a great movie. watched PAUL last night. great movie too

It’s a perfectly valid argument. Coming from South Africa and having worked in a gunshop / having known many people in the gun industry I’ve heard plenty. In SA getting robbed at gunpoint by criminals with illegal firearms is an almost daily occurance out in the townships. Gangs praying on the poor. The only thing those gangs respect is a show of force. If you have a gun and they know it they are less likely to rob you.
This is from the people that live in the townships. It’s like some crazy wild west with fewer morals out there.
And the whole “you’re more likely to get killed if you carry a gun” thing doesn’t hold water in SA. The criminals are not after your gun and most of the time will kill to prevent identification whether you pose a threat or not. Most of the illegal firearms come from police stations and army depots. They do not care about civilian firearms.
Of course the horrible corrupt police force doesn’t help things.
Maybe things are different in cities with a good police presence but out on farms where the nearest police help is a good, long drive away you need some self defence. Overactive gun control strips these people of that self defence. At one point in SA farmers were being killed faster than combatants in Iraq at the height of the Iraq war. Police were not far behind. Being a farmer there was one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

I’ll give you that there are plenty of other reasons against tight gun control but a lot of it boils down to the simplicity of “Criminals still get guns and are willing to use them. Their victims no longer have access to guns and so cannot even if they want to.”

Legally owned firearms used to commit crimes in SA: less than 1% and yet millions were spent on new and tighter gun control laws. It’s like going out and buying an expensive riding lawnmower to remove a pimple.

Bah… personal pet peve :o sorry to rant

@Zenstar:
The situation is much different than in America, which is what I assumed the post I commented on was aimed at. In America, 95% of gun crimes are commited with a pistol that is perfectly legal to carry with a permit; and if not legally owned, is usually obtained at a legal gun show with cash (from a stall that doesn’t check for permits).

The majority of gun crimes in America would not occur if the firearms were not simply so easy to obtain.

In SA, gangs aren’t the petty criminals you see in the US, they almost resemble an organized Para-Military.

Realistically though, the government needs to crack down on suppliers to prevent gun crimes, not the users. Background checks and sting operations at stores would go a lot further than making it more difficult to obtain a permit. The fact that permits are required is enough. As it is, anyone with a few hundred dollars cash can walk into a gun show and walk out with guns, no permit required.

Yeah. We’re pretty much on the same page
And completely off topic now

Quick: say something interesting about the english bobby… ummm…
Do you know where the bobby got his nickname from?

Sir Robert Peel helped create the concept of the modern police force back in the mid 1800s and the police were known as “Peelers” or “Bobby’s boys” (Since Bob is a shortening of Robert) and that slowly got shortened to “Bobby”.

Apparently the term “Peeler” is also still used today but is more of an insult (can’t say I’ve heard it).

(phew. I think that was on topic enough.)

you should be able to wear any hat with the face mask, I don’t really get why you cant, its not like it would cause any clipping issues.

Hat and mask at the same time? Are you mad? the weight alone will cause your face to crumple in on itself. The officer in that picture has had years of face training to be able to wear that. When you can do 50 “lip pushups” then we’ll talk!

(its al bout security) #76

he does have pretty big lips

(SnipingMeerkat) #77

Whoa I did’t realise how much comments I would receive

(SinDonor) #78

I concur! Both great.

(KAS--Will) #79

Chinese police in BRINK would be unbalanced as hell… they’d own.

(its al bout security) #80

BAHAHA

thats funny for two reasons

 1. its humorous

 2. since i doubt the people of china could even access these forums i just want to say china is inferior.
