The Limey look?

(zenstar) #21
yeah, limey was from when we ruled the world and nobody wanted to sell us lemons, i think they helped stop scurvy, so we had limes instead, which werent as good.

i learn more from watching QI on Dave (tv channel) than when i was at school! :)
Ha! QI is great. And yes: Any citrus helps prevent scurvy (it’s the vit C I believe).
its weird that US people seem to think of us over here as all posh (and bad teeth if you watch family guy) as most of us are from working class background and the UK is one of the biggest warring nations in history, i would far sooner have some english beast on my side that some skinny punk with a gun.

its odd, its not like we think all yanks are stupid and fat is it ? j/k
Countries normally get judged on their holidaymakers and their loudest members. The average people who are polite and normal aren’t remembered because they don’t stand out as much as the obnoxious members who pee’ed on the rug before insulting your sister.
It annoys me so much when someone scoffs at Americans as “fat and stupid” and honestly means it. I ask them if they’ve ever been to America and their response is (99% of the time) “No! Why would I want to? It’s full of Americans.” Idiots
The holidays I’ve had in America have been great and the Americans I’ve met have been some of the friendliest people in the world. On the other hand some of the “yoofs” in the UK have been some of the thickest, most self-entitled leeches I’ve ever met.
I used to live in South Africa… if it wasn’t for that I’d add violent to the UK “yoofs” but SA is a … special place
thats just a beat cop, not even a big town one as they normally wear body armour. beat cops have the silly hats, they normally wear a cap similar to the US cops

of course if everyone in the good ol’ US of A wasnt a gun toting psycho you might not need all that armour… but we know most of you love your guns!

hey, he nicked my the freak mask, give it bakc.

I found a pic of the Limey look with a couple of players in SMART action while shooting!

LOOKS SWEET!!! I guess this verifies that dual-handguns are in the next DLC too!
He might also have a gun locked in the safe in the car. And if he radios it in, and is under fire then they’ll probably give him permission to take it out.

Yeah… I never really got how gunshy the government is here. They’re only disarming the victims. Criminals don’t follow the law so they’ll “tool up” anyway and the laws obviously haven’t kept guns out of the country since there are plenty of gun crimes and crims with guns.

/shrug politics.
You say that, but there are 7 gun homicides in the US per 100,000 people. In the UK, there are 0.15 gun homicides per 100,000 people. A person in the US is ~30 times more likely to be killed by a firearm. They must be doing something right.

There is also the fact that a victim who is carrying a gun is much more likely to be killed. Furthermore, the majority of gun homicides are an act of passion by someone the victim is close to, not a premeditated thing from a criminal with an illegal firearm.

If gun control doesn’t keep weapons out of the hands of criminals, why do so many criminals use weapons that fit into US law, rather than more lethal automatic weapons?

In defense of gun legalization, Rifles and “Assault” style weapons are almost never used in homicides, so strict regulation on them isn’t as important. The weapons that criminals use are usually stock, legal pistols obtained from a gun show, not even black market.

sorry to burst your bubble but i have a class 3 dealers license and i own various grenades, a 20mm rifle (67.8 calibur called a destructive device and quite illegal if you dont have a class 3) and many 2 “assualt” rifles (assault rifle is a stupid name made up by congress to ban anything with a bayonet lug or carried more than 30 rounds just because it looks violent)
i just want to prepare myself for a zombie Apocalypse. there really isnt a point to get a class 3 liscence unless your an avid shooter or you want to take down the government.

I’ll just leave this here to drop some knowledge on everyone here:

http://www2.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2009/offenses/expanded_information/data/shrtable_08.html

Yep. Out of our 307M people, only 10,100 died from murder by a gun (2005 stats). Of that group, 95% of those homicides were gang related (2005 stats)

http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/homicide/circumst.cfm#circumgun

Are you in a gang? No? Then don’t worry too much.

No bubble to burst. I’m not really all that against firearms, I just find it stupid when people say that “gun control is bad, it just disarms the victims” because its a horrible argument.

And I think, if you looked into it, you would find that anyone with a class 3 license is unlikely to ever actually commit homicide.

And as far as “assault weapons” are concerned, This video (skip forward to 5:08 if you know the difference between a semi-auto and full-auto weapon >.>) points out how stupid the laws are. A criminal isn’t likely to pay extra money to put bells and whistles on his gun. Even if one does, it doesn’t make the weapon any more dangerous.

i dont want to get in trouble with the fbi but there is a very illegal method where you take a little ball shaped thingy called a sauder out of a rifle or pistol and sand it down to make any weapon automatic. there is no attraction to full automatic weapons when it comes down to it cause liikely half your shots will miss even if you are an expert marksman. but taking guns away from a civilian does remove their chances to protect themselfs.

everyone in Switzerland owns an assualt rifle as it is manditory and the homicde and theft there is virtually 0.

Funny pictures in this thread. I’d like to see pictures of what the Steam Punk will look like.

That is very different from removal of gun control. The difference is that if you simply remove gun control, only the people who want one will have one.

In Switzerland, the criminals know that literally every single household is going to have a firearm and know how to use it. That’s a pretty good deterrent.

Assassinated because the spin up time on his Gatling took too long.

(its al bout security) #37

all these people want a shot gun for lights i got one for you. its a beautiful pistol that would require one to rifle the barrel to legally own in the us http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q05Pv2bdDdE

(Shadowcat) #38

The regular judge is actually a pretty poor firearm for anything but fun. Using bird or buck shot, the penetration is horrible; with slugs, only 3 slugs fit in the .410 shell and the spread is very bad; and pistol rounds can miss outside of point blank range due to the lack of rifling.

Thus, I will one up you with the Raging Judge. Same idea, but 28-gauge instead of .410. (I laughed when the guy in the video suggested you could use it for fishing.)

(wolfnemesis75) #39

Too Awesome. Now, how come he got shot in the back by a Derringer?

(Shadowcat) #40

Like i said before, it took too long to spin up.
