The issue with xp farming

(Shananuga) #1

Sooo this happened to me today, usually not much of an issue and the act itself seems kind of senseless to me.

But first let me tell you how this came to be.
Me having my morning coffe just wanted to play my first Stopwatch game of the day when i had to ssee that all but 2 EU servers were down/empty.
So i tried joining an US East server. Because eventhough my ping is 120~, it’s stable.

I joined and before even moving the c4 was planted and defused a couple times. Me being curious running there and seeing one big skirmish of people batting eachother and 2 engis happily trading c4.

Now remember, I already had a very limited choice in Servers and then got this . . .

First round ended like this

And when you happen to want to disturb them then they threaten with vote kick

Personally i think this is enough reason for a 3-7 day ban but what do others think?
Is this sort of behaviour ok?

Hey!

Please report these users to support: https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

This would come under “exploiting” and is most definitely against the rules. It would be great if you could send the screenshots to support too - preferably the originals so that the names are visible. If you have their steam profile links too, that would be great!

If you don’t know the user’s names/links, please include the server name (eg. US-East 35 Stopwatch 7v7, etc.) so that the GM’s can look up the activity logs. Thanks!

Report them to the support. I did so and people stopped playing DB after I’ve reported them, so they must get some punishment.
The act of farming itself isn’t very bad, but the fact those people are disturbing the play-fun of other players was punished in every online game I ever played, and Nexon is punishing it obviously, too.

I’ve seen this happen too, and I also got kicked when I went between em. Thanks to @Faraleth I now know its not right!

i reported them all ingame and send a support ticket already before posting this (including unedited screenshot)

so no worries there.

I just remembered reading about something similar a few month ago but couldn’t find it anymore.

What kinda bugged me was that one persons said some rubbish about only getting banned after 30 reports and stuff.

I posted this mainly to show that this is still an issue and maybe get a discussion going about levels and xp rewards including problems that come with it

Wow. never seen those farming dudes do that in front of many people looking at the,.

Since there is very low population is Asia server, I do witnessed many cases like 2 farmers go inside stopwatch, and starting to XP farm.(Such as plant and defuse, or if they were in same team, shooting guns at the air and giving ammo to each other.)

If there is many playes in server like your case, everyone can report, but 2 guys farming? no one can’t…

SD should really add some functions to stop players do 1 vs 1 game in pub.

This is actually borderline cheating, because the amount of credits you get is directly linear to the amount of XP you get (at least from what I’ve seen). So they’re not only boosting their level senselessly, but also “cheating” money out of the game.

You mean that’s not already a thing? In almost any game that has an overarching progression, matches will only be enabled to count towards progression if there’s a minimum number of players on the server. 4 would be that number for the player count in Dirty Bomb matches, maybe even 6.
You’re saying I can just join an empty server and get mission progress and stuff?

(HonourBound) #9

Why would someone want to exploit xp anyways? level isn’t worth anything and you don’t get any rewards lol

(Tanker_Ray) #10

@Ctrix ??? I never knew it.

But as soon as one guy comes in, match started counting!

I have no idea why. As an example, I was able to test MK.46’s damage with my friend in empty server, because the match started… I did this 2days ago.

Yes, and I was able to do missions at least with one guy at the enemy. What the hack…

I really do see those paired XP farmers sometimes. I’ll take screenshots if I can.

@Ctrix @ThunderPro

Pretty certain it’s 12 credits per minute, XP has no influence on it.

But they do get cases for level ups faster, still XP farming is senseless and just bad behaviour.

(XP_Expert) #12

in this situation, they need ours active report.
don’t let their offensive mind hungry. FEED IT! FEEEEEEED~ IT!

If this was true, I would be swimming in credits.
It’s 1 cred/5 seconds no matter what.

(Ctrix) #14

lame

(N8o) #15

Agreed. It SHOULD be linked to performance.

(Martín) #16

That’s disgusting

(Daergar) #17

All I can think is “I wish I got more credits for playing well”, hah.
