I’m gonna keep this nice and short so you don’t spend what I could right a 2 hour long passage about the issues with this matchmaking.Matchmaking is said to put you against enemys of the same level.This is not the case.I just spent the past 2 HOURS going against 1-2 of the same level 20 people in every match I joined.This would normally not be an issue as the game is for the most part skill based,HOWEVER,since this game is still in a open beta,balancing would be an issue since it is still testing,and is everyones part to deal with these issue as it is beta,the higher levels players have got the classes that shred through the lower level 5,6,7 who mainly just stick around with the free roatation and aura and skyhammer.We need more matches near our own skill level,and furthermore a anti-spawn camp until the matchmaking can be resolved because spawn camping would be fine to punish attackers not attacking and further.Imagine sitting in your spawn for 13 minutes just getting killed due to other on your team quitting the game since the others are a much higher level.It is INSANELY unfair,and seems to be ruining this game for me.These higher level players with more experience also always seem to make smart remarks because they bought xp boosters or have the unbalanced classes.All in all,this needs a fix.
The issue with competitive matchmaking
I think a good first step would be raising the minimum level to 10 in order to compete for rank.
And then improve the ranking system matchups so that people who are higher on the ladder get matched appropiatly. Even if it means 5-10 minute wait times because it beats stomping the other team and being stuck in a boring match for 20 minutes.

Well, I intended to make it short, BUT looks like it ended in the opposite way. Otherwise it really wouldn’t have been a big deal. I meant for this to be a few sentences, didn’t go my way.
Where does it say it puts you against players of the same level? Last I heard it attempts to put you against players of the same skill level. If you are unranked then I have no doubt that it would pair you against the first available players. Then if nobody is searching around your skill level it will again pair you again the first available players.
What balancing issues did you run in to? Any suggestions for balance changes?
What do you mean that the higher levels have the classes that shred lower levels? Doesn’t everybody have the same ability to get access to these mercs? It sounds like it is more about the time they have put in practicing with those mercs then it just being those mercs. Otherwise how would they be level 20+?
Spawn camping is directly related to team skill. Adding additiona anti-spawn camp measures would change anything besides you die a little bit farther along.
I agree, they should add a surrender vote so imbalanced games can be ended faster. It is a drag to spawn camp for 10+ minutes if the skill level is clearly lopsided. It is a pain for both teams involved.
This game has no XP boosters. Only credit boosters. And those boosters are not worth it at all if you do the math on them. Better off just buying the merc you want rather then a credit boost.
I also agree that it is unfair that players just leave a match they know they will most likely lose. This hits on the surrender vote option again. Definitely needed.
I understand that it may be frustrating, but the system in use is still new. Hopefully changes will be on the way.

Everybody in a game kept saying they bought xp boosters to get to the rank they are currently(Didn’t happen to look since I currently don’t have money)
Yes,the skill is needed for them to kill other mercs, I believe I mentioned that.
BUT,What im trying to say here is that the 2 starter merks you start with can have some SERIOUS issues dealing with people who have Rhino,Bushwacker,Sparks(which is rotation,I understand that) it becomes a real issue due to the sheer amount of what feels like more Raw power than the starters.Yeah,skyhammer has a power as hell airstrike,What use is it whenever you get even get to the enemies due to rhino that blows you to pieces before you can event react? They camp inside a building and the marker becomes near useless unless you manage to deal damage before throwing it. Another issue I have seen, it may be just because it is still in beta, but I was placed into silver 1. One away from Gold 5? When i won only 4 out of my 10 matches? Really?
Balance issues: I read through patch notes and saw that shotguns were balanced awhile back. I feel as if that was not enough. Even with that spread increase, I find myself quite often dying in 2 shots from an Aura on Trainyard while I could be standing in attack spawn and her just stepping down the right staircase and killing me with two shotguns shots at that range.
Sparks needs to have a increased charge time on her heal gun or some sort of change on her Revive gun. Having a Rhino pop back up 4 times in a row is quite frustrating,especially in a narrow area,or an upstairs area where she can be hiding.
The burst-fire rifles seem to be complete GARBAGE. Have yet managed to do any worthwhile damage with them.
In most matches I have seen, if one played skyhammer or arty the entire time, the get a large amount less than alot of the others do.
Alot of this may seem kind of “well that’s not an issue” but this is my opinion on what could be fixed to a greater extent.
