Man I keep hearing about this subject, I would love to see something tribes like come out of this game. I know team envy is coming to this game just because they see potential in ET:Quake Wars. This is other then the fact that it has a tribes like characteristic, we had no idea till now. So keep the good news coming.

Ive been playing tribes 2 for 6 or more years, Have played classic, (some of the weapons don’t feel natural in 1) (lead time on weapons just feels like it should in 2).
T:V is fun but just not Tribes 3. I got into tribes because there was a game demo I tried that was like tribes (had a jet pack) but I can’t find what game it was.
I will try any game that is a FPS with a jet pack, But it also has to have a tribes feel about the pack too, that and the Spinfuser mid air hits are the best part of tribes for me.
Now if they could just mod Halo with a jet pack and a spinfuser I’d jump on that 2 hehe.
I have not bought any of the Quakes but I have played some, If there’s a Tribes Mod I will definitely Try it out. And I will try the QW:ET demo if there is one.
Greetings from Miami Vehicles. I had no idea there was so much support for a Tribes project on ET:QW. We at MV have been planning on hosting a server ever since this game was announced. I started a thread yesterday at the QW community forums and was refered here.
It’s great news to hear that skiing and weapon recreations definately possible. We are working on recreating the experience Houston Vehicles and Miami Vehicles brought to Tribes 2:

Varied Objectives (Both familiar and things we to do in T2, but could not)
The immediate goal is not to create a T2 conversion, but to create a server that is Tribes-like. I have not created weapons and mods for a fps since … umm… Quake. Once the server is launched, a few maps are released and stats mod complete, then we will start planning a T2 conversion. However, if one is in the works, MV would gladly host a test server on one of the four we have ready for launch. My first few maps, and others to come later, will pay homage to maps created by nefilim & HV-Tex. (If you are reading this, you guys made some badass maps that deserve to be ported to ET:QW)

I still play Tribes 1 on the spatterfest of Azeroth server and the gameplay
still roxors. Skiing didnt kill tribes as tribes was gettin boring and when
skiing broke out it completely changed the gameplay and made it a fast
and frenzied game where you see heavies flyin through air and it gave a
new element to attacking… I played tribes 2 and it was too flat, if it
wasnt for tribes to open the online gaming experience with the vehicles
which was a 1st and the map sizes was huge…
as you can tell im an avid tribes fan hehe… Tribes Vengence was where
the devs didnt listen at all to what the community really wanted and did
what they wanted and completely made a hash of it all…
would love to see a spinfusor on QW hehehe…
Just don’t make a TRIBES mod that resembles T:V in any way, for the love of all that does not suck.
One T:V was more than one too many.

I would love to help out with any effort towards a Tribes mod, although I don’t know how to code at all. I made many maps for T:V, and would be happy to learn a new editor if I was helping to make Tribes 3.
