I’m pissed. Super pissed. I’m mad that none of the main issues I have with this game haven’t been fixed in nearly 10 months. I’m mad that ranked is still broken and rage inducing and yet is still touted as the “core of Dirty Bomb”. F that. I just qued for 30 minutes for one ranked match, having 4 games come and go through my fingers because some AFK kid doesn’t click accept for 40 seconds and then the game takes another 10 minutes to find me a match. When I finally find a match, it’s unbalanced as all get out and I get 2 leavers on my team, forcing us to either suffer through 15 minutes of being spawn camped, or surrender. I was mid-gold rank this season. I’m now one loss away from silver because I got 3 games IN A ROW with 2 leavers on my team that demoted me time after time. THIS IS BULL AND NEEDS TO CHANGE. There is no reason my SKILL RATING (aka rank) should be punished because of the rage quitters who just leave the game 3 minutes in.
The fix: Games with leavers should not be counted towards the deranking of the offending player’s team. And the leaving punishes should be doubled if not tripled. If it was isolated incidents of leavers in ranked I would understand, but it’s every other game. Clearly SD is not doing something to help prevent this.
Another reason I’m pissed: we STILL have not gotten the fix or re-work to the crafting system that we were promised almost a year ago at this point. They simply released a new, unrelated system to distract us from the fact that crafting a cobalt STILL costs 20,000 fragments and 50,000 credits. Not to mention that once the event currency goes away, there will be no way to get the new case keys by just playing the game. Keys are currently purchasable with event currency “for a limited time” which means that those skins will be locked behind a paywall come January bar some sort of change. Also the fact that more RNG on top of the already astronomical RNG in the form of “wear” is complete crap and just copying CS:GO’s form of bs.
The Fix: Combine the crafting system with the old trade-up system. Allow us the option to choose how we want to progress to the cards we want. Add a permanent 3rd currency earnable through playtime specifically used to by the new cases and keys. Put boosters in the store to boost this currency specifically and/or offer bonus packs of amount of the currency to buy cases and keys outright.
There have been strides in the right direction, I agree. Dirty Bomb has seemingly been on a great up-trend recently with new content and updates on the regular. But when your “core game mode” is still fundamentally broken and irritating as heck to play, everything else just isn’t fun.
