the free DLC will probably disappoint...

(H3LLS1) #1

Unless the free DLC contains:

432 new maps,
female characters,
80 new outfits,
Full customizable faces,
CTF,
TDM,
Hardcore,
FFA,
a lobby,
amazing graphical update,
new turrets,
double barreled shotguns,
knives,
new AI,
new guns,
complete lag solution,
k/d tracking,
quick scoping,
updated noob tube and ‘nades,
kill streak rewards,
a friggin zombie mode….
….AND get it ALL done in less than a week’s time….

…then I think most of yall will be SORELY disappointed. LOL

These are alot of the request I see around this site. And it cracks me up how many people are trying to change the game play to Black ops. Really?! It’s not CoD people.

The rest of us, I think, see a few issues that NEED to be fixed and this game will really stand on it’s own…which we got it in the first place.

I’ve heard some seriously retarded requests, like the zombie mode… I about reached through the computer and slapped that kid.

I do think the community was deceived a bit. Or maybe the information was just shared years ago and I missed it. But no where did splash damage mention complete lack of stat tracking, only 1 game mode, oh and that the Xbox version looks nothing like the videos they’ve shown us for years.

So yeah the DLC probably will disappoint most. I expected it to enable us to finally play 8v8, have maps that aren’t full of choke points, and fix the dumbest bot AI ever to exist.

Lack of stat tracking is a big one for me, and I’ve proven my point. If this game weren’t about kill camping and exp farming, why are half my games being spawn camped?

Lame.

did you play L4D? that game had no real personal stat tracking and it was a blast.

Afaik most of the videos were of the PC version being played with an XBOX controller, so yer…

EDIT: @ DLC, I don’t see the point in it, sure it’s nice, but the only DLC I need is the SDK :stuck_out_tongue:

(matsy) #6

I’ve only ever got one piece of dlc ever and that was for fallout 3 so I could play free roam at the end of game. Unless it doesn’t enhance the game to a new level i’m not interested and I guess if there was something that did that and they released the SDK no one would buy it and wait for someone to mod it.

Multi-player maps will split the community to those who have it and those who don’t, couldnt really care with what my character looks like, I can’t see him in game. Maybe if I could turn all the opposition players in to hot females then I may get it…

I’d like the idea of new challenges though, and local high scores for them because there is a lot of space on that page and I only ever play the challenges when my internet is being a dick and goes through its stage of disconnecting / reconnecting for about half an hour… :frowning:

Either the map needs changing, or people need to get even more creative to break the spawn camping.

Well at the end of every match, while it doesn’t track them it does show every single stat from # of Zombies killed, teammates defib’ed, damage done to the tank, etc etc.

Plus it has several very entertaining and repeatable game modes. I loved scavenger. And versus was great too.

Left 4 Dead also had a way different dynamic than Brink. Brinks lame AI hardly creates a single player experience.

L4D’s AI director is just one reason why that game has a leg up on Brink. It is however almost like comparing apples and oranges as the theory behind the games are way different. But if you want to compare, L4D has several things over Brink, like Lobbies!

(stealth6) #9

L4D and Brink can’t be compared on level of AI, the AI in L4D just runs at you and tries to hit you… The AI in Brink has to compensate for a load of features like classes, abilities, SMART and objectives…

(Bakercompany) #10

Read again. The AI Director is what I was talking about, not the AI behavior specifically. Zombies are zombies… i’m referring to the Director that constantly monitors your health, ammo, skills, and status to change the way it throws zombies and specials at you. Thus no playthrough is exactly the same, and they can come from anywhere.

So even though Zombies may just run at you and try to eat you, its the way it used said zombies to create a more terrifying and thrilling experience.

Both of those game modes were added MANY months after L4D launched. Hell….it only had to major maps for the first Vs game play. And the game was STILL great

it’s hard to compare Brink to other games…unless you compare to ALOT of different games. i used L4D here becasue, in the case of what we were discussing, it fit.

(AnthonyDa) #12

Check your steam profile then, because there is a lot of stat for L4D (few examples: most used weap, accuracy, win/lose ratio and so on).

Well again 2 totally different stories, in L4D they can just randomize it, the characters (mobs) don’t have to be consistent. I’d also be surprised if there was actually anything behind what mobs you get, in my experience they just throw random monsters at predefined spawns.
While in Brink your team has a certain set of characters, they can’t change mid way (body type or appearance)
Also since they were trying to blur MP and SP the bots have fixed spawns just like you do, so they couldn’t really create a narrative with that either.

End of the day if you were looking for a better SP experience you’re playing the wrong game… Borderlands might be a better choice.

(H3LLS1) #14

where do i check that? is that in the XBL market?

LOL

(Protector) #15

You are a retard. Please go cry somewhere else.

(Mustang) #16

(Protector) #19

Still you…I’m stateing a fact and making a request…

(H3LLS1) #20

lmao. i have yet to complain…except about the amount of complaining. you either lack basic reading comprehension skills, or are just running your piehole for the sake of running your piehole. which makes YOU calling ME retarded, fairly ironic…doesn’t it?
