The Fragger nade nerf applies to other merc's abilities as well.

So canceling the throw of Vassili’s sensor or Skyhammer’s beacon puts them on cooldown.

That’s sad, especially for Skyhammer what with the confusion we still have between the quick ability buttons for the marker and the packs vs Sawbonez’s abilities. I lost count of how many times I pulled out and armed an airstrike marker only to switch back to another weapon / ability when I saw it wasn’t an ammo pack I was about to throw at a teammate… :rolleyes:

Well if Fragger gets punished for canceling an ability so should others imo.

Nah. Skyhammer’s airstrike isn’t that powerful that canceling it should result in a full (70 seconds?) cooldown lol. Also this wasn’t specified in the patch notes nor was there any talk about Vassili’s poke ball being OP so this is definitely a bug.

Not a full one, but Fragger is being punished for not dedicated to cooking, why would Skyhammer be able to get away for not dedicated to his airstrikes. The percentages should maybe be different, but you can’t punish one merc for cancelling and let the other one get away with it?

ehh, there is no ‘cooking’ involved with other abilites. Whether its heartbeat sensor, or even the airstrike; the difference is huge compared to nades in your face

Of course you can and it would make much more sense since only Fragger’s ability to cancel is overpowered.

So I reinstalled to check out the new update. I like the feature where if you cook fraggers nade and cancell, you recieve a cooldown. BUT if you use skyhammer and accidently press airstrike ability and you quicly cancell the full cool down starts again +1min!! Very frustrating. Is that supposed to happen?

Haven’t tried the cancel, but you’d think it was wrong since a failed-to-deliver strike has a reduced cool down (like 1/8th or less… maybe 1/12th?)

Question - Is this also happening for Aura? I doubt it…

Good stuff - I was wondering what was happening last night, I kept assuming the marker had hit an invalid target rather than the cancel happening :D.

This change went through this weekend with the new execution game mode. Not sure why this nerf that was supposed to only apply to Fragger’s nades now applies to every merc in the game. Vassili’s heartbeat gets the full 20 second cd now if you cancel the throw.

Pretty dumb if you ask me. This change was meant to punish players who constantly cook grenades. Not people who throw heartbeat sensors or airstrikes.

what especially sucks about this bug is that even when you cook an item and die in the midst of it, the CD is applied. That’s extremely harsh, even if that applies with fragger’s grenades.
