the felix and the moa sniperrifle magazine switch

(roningoud) #1

what do you guys think about the magazine switch of the sniper rifles:

Fel-ix : 6 bullets in a magazine
Moa-snpr-1: 5 bullets in a magazine

for me it changes much because now the Fel-ix can match the Moa in the stats. for me the Fel-ix feels much better if i shoot, and that is for me very important for sniping.

pls share your idea of this change.

PS. I know this is a old change but i just want to know your opinion.

This change isn’t just old, it’s been updated - the MOA now holds 6 bullets again while the FEL-IX holds 5.

And giving the FEL-IX one extra bullet didn’t do much to give it an advantage over the MOA, not when it was 5/6 and not now where it is 6/7. What really makes a difference is the firerate, reload speed and the augments (specifically, that the MOA’s cards can get Focus whereas the FEL-IX cannot, while the FEL-iX cards can get Spotter while the MOA cards cannot - and since Focus is far better than Spotter, it’s much better to use the MOA’s MO11 or MO93 over anything else).

The FEL-IX needs a buff OR the augments on the FEL-IX loadouts need to be buffed. At the moment it’s so obviously worse than the MOA and its loadouts.

At least the PDP-70 offers a different kind of gun and playstyle - the FEL-IX just offers a less effective version of the MOA.

Changing the ammo has, evidently, not made a huge difference for the two snipers as we have seen in the past. ProfPlump mentioned well what actually matters; the firerate, the reload speed, the augments and to an extent the damage if I may add it in.

There’s seriously no reason to use the FEL-IX over the Moa because all you get is 4 extra damage that does nothing to change the efficiency of the shots, in the price for worse reload speed, firerate and augments.

I’m bugging people out just for a tweak of the FEL-IX; It needs to be changed one way or another with my current preferred idea being to make it a High-Risk High-Reward weapon.

4 shots, keep the slow reload speed and firerate; but now you can instagib enemies and it takes enough damage to headshot a Thunder (160). Basically you’re bringing something that is incredibly hard-to-use, but incredibly powerful.

Of course, if there are any other ideas to the FEL-IX, I would love to hear them too!

I think that the FEL-IX needs to have headshot gibs and like you said: the 160 damage
and you will need to keep the slownes of the weapon

The problem with bringing the felix (or any weapon) up to 160 damage on a headshot is that it’ll do 80 damage on a body shot, which’ll one shot aura and sparks.

They could just give the weapon a different HS damage multiplier. Having 70 damage bodyshot with 2.5x HS multiplier would solve the issue.
Theres other guns in the game that could benefit from the same treatment.

Pretty much this. There are ways to make it work without making it too strong, put simply.

Tweaks they can do to make FEL IX more attractive for current trade offs against MOA:

Swap hardscope sway around. MOA Sways, FEL IX doesn’t

Make tracer on MOA highly visible, none for FEL IX

Raise MOA sound signature radius, reduce FEL IX sound signature or perfectly silent.

This ^

The Fel-ix should be more punishing to get whacked in the nuts with, but it should also be way more punishing to miss with.

However, we would likely face the same issue of the Pro’s breaking it again.
