I admit that I didn’t really get directly involved playing Pokemon Go, though I did end up getting trailed around lots of scenic London locations and being within earshot of people nerdgasming over Venusaurs, but I found it very fascinating as a phenomenon and, possibly even more interesting, how quickly it seems to have fallen out of favour. Seemingly a lot of this can be attributed to poor decisions by the creators, and given that it’s also a F2P title I wonder if there’s any lessons to be learned here, though I’m a bit bored of requesting a roadmap for DB at this point
This article suggests some things that have contributed to its downfall, but it seems to me like with some clever marketing and killer features it could easily surge in popularity again, as despite all the people not actively playing it, I’m sure nearly all of them still have it installed.
