Obviously I’m actually too naive for this crap. After watching the vid above I was pretty stunned by the quality and volume of this hacking program. It’s kinda impressive in a way, but most of all quite scary. I hope Nexon and SD will find a more, or less proper solution to this. Atm it looks like DB is a wide open door for this cheater scum.

Playing like this is like running a marathon with an exo-sceleton. You must be pretty spoiled in your head to feel actually victorious when you win in this way.

Is hacking in a game even illegal; I mean from a juridical POV? I mean it’s not like you are stealing money, or what. Technically you are only selling a third party program to a game. And maybe that’s the only illegal thing about it; selling un-authorised third party software. I’m sure that’s not everything, but what do you guys think, or know?

PS: With those kinda hacks, the game is still the same for everybody. You are not changing the overall content of it, just the impression of it, for the guy who’s buying your program.

I’m pretty sure it’s not illegal to hack a game to give you an advantage in the game since I’ve never seen a lawsuit about it (and it’s a big business). Cracking etc is another can of worms.

I’d also start from the standpoint that the hackers are infinitely smarter than you / SD and will be able to bypass any detection software you throw at them. So any system you think of should keep that in mind. The most creative solution I’ve seen was the one in Titanfall, but I don’t know if it actually worked.

Actually from a legal standpoint I believe it is possible to sue hackers due to lost revenue. However, you are correct and there have been no big/serious cases yet so no president has been set.

The detection standpoint you are correct it will always be beaten. However, providing we get a decent way of handling hackers I believe the problems will be much smaller than in other free to play titles. Also with the way data is collected from the game it should be possible to place traps in the stats system that will insta ban hacking accounts. However, only time will tell :slight_smile:

I think that would be hard to prove. You could also argue they increase revenue by buying keys when they get banned & often the group that buys hacks is not mutually exclusive to the group that buys ingame items.

As for data, we’ll see what happens. Humanized aim, wallhack, no recoil, etc will still get through though.

Seen too many “smart” engineers failing hard on implementing autobanning resulting in many frustrated legit people.

“We never though a player could achieve 100kills without dying.” But it happend.

But it should at least be possible to ban specific hacking programs; I mean those that are known to SD and Nexon. A anti cheating tool checks what programs you are running on your computer and done. That can’t be too hard. Or of how many different cheat developers are we even talking here? Dozens, hundreds even?

Aside from that, I don’t think the problem is that cheat developers are that much smarter than game programmers. The problem is more their relentlessness. They will just come up with another cheat, the moment their current cheat is detected and banned.

PS: This cheat tool business seems to be a very low risk, very high reward business. At least that’s what I’ve learned from this thread here.

Yep, the programmers have almost no risk but a high profit. The guys who buy hacks have the risk. If they get banned, they lost the money they spend for the game and they lost the money they spend on the hack. But thats fine, who is stupid enough to buy a hack should suffer!

OK I’m done … it’s absolutely not fun, maps are horrible, and people are leaving the game saying this game is full of hackers and that the truth for the moment.
Waiting for SD or Nexon to do something !
