So I thought id share my thoughts on the toon Dave…

Most of you know Ive been useing him alot lately…:wink:

Ive always liked him, he was my 2nd toon and well since then im hooked…
hes fast, has almost a guaranteed 72 dmg potential every round, his grenades are 65dmg.
His 200hp barely seems to make him weak as with soem other toons…
Plus he is cheap to get…

I do think though with handgun his potential is not so good, then rather go knife. Also these heavy machineguns I havent tried yet but they cost 5 and 6 points to use… I will get one soon… But he needs to be able to shoot and hide and with guns costing so many points he cant.

Now ive come to realize on 20points games, having 3 Daves is 80% win chance! Regardless of which map and which turn you go. 26points map well on a veteran you can win but then you have to think and act.

Daves strenght lies however in charge and attack. :slight_smile:

I hardly plan alot, i go with the flow and well thats my playstyle. :slight_smile:

I love Dave … not that there’s anything wrong with that.
All of the skinnies are about speed. Since they are also somewhat fragile, they need to be kept dispersed so you don’t take multiple heavy damage from a single AOA attack.
Dave doesn’t seem as fragile as Megan because his grenade allows him some power at range as well as allow him to act as his own support, but once his grenade is gone, he must rely on combined arms from other toons to work well.
Squeezing an extra toon into the squad by using 4 point weapons (knife/pistol) is a good way to get that extra grenade but it sacrifices firepower later in the match.
First move isn’t always that critical, but in a lot all matches, 1st kill is. So sayth the gospel according to Coup and I agree.
I think the best way to run a Dave Clone squad is to disperse on deployment, pick a single target or tight group and aggressively converge to knock out 1 toon and hopefully cripple other(s), using grenades as needed. Even a heavy will drop in one turn under 3 grenades and Who-Haw shots.
A map with choke points helps a lot.

Sandman, I think your 80% rule is across all opponent skill levels. I can easily imagine someone playing their first 26 pt game seeing 5 Daves … and fainting. How successful have you been against veterans?

Sorry Sandman, but I agree with Jerry. Your clone Dave tactics has no chance against the veterans. As I can remember once or twice you managed to kill one of my toons using All your grenades. But after you were out of grenades you had no chances. And using 3-4 Daves on the Bridge and Old town was a complete suicide :slight_smile:

Well you Veterans are harder no Doubt. The Surprise moment is crucial. I agree no grenades less firepower. I also think 20 points are better. Against you mitsid I forget not to rush :slight_smile: I will get you soon :wink:

Sorry Beastekkers Suds seem weak but I’ve met tons of Meagan’s :wink:

Defintely a fun play style, will work on getting some better guns…

I think that’s overstated a bit. He has to get real close to use his C4 then hope somebody moves to it but he won’t win the race to get there. Hmmm. I was about to list all of what I consider to be his weaknesses but it occurs to me to try a couple things first.

Sandman, prep your Dave’s. I’ll slip you a 20pt soapy challenge on Park soon. (I crack me up)

Do I hear a challenge? :slight_smile: I’ll put my fav clone squad against clone suds and see what happens. If you do not have clone suds or cannot afford them, would anybody like to champion for him?
