The Competitive scene for Brink

Hello everyone,

Coming in here to see what everyone is thinking about the competitive scene for Brink. Really as to what is everyone looking FOR? What would everyone want from a league or this game?

My point here is - how can we make this community a successful one so we can attract sponsors, leagues, CASH, and prizes in return for our time and efforts. I hope we all come in with a positive attitude towards this game and aim for the preservation of it. The more we help each other, the more we can get done.

Someone remind me what the last FPS was with cash prizes on leagues >1000euro and sponsors willing to do more than provide a few months of free server hosting.

Considering my teammates professional team has been flown to europe for a couple of those games, I’m not guessing.

Modern Warfare was the last for him. MW2 leagues did prizes/cash… Black Ops right now is doing a $3000,$2000 prize pool… Why are you questioning this if you posted in a competitive gaming thread?

Might want to make sure that Brink will be competitive viable first. SD still hasn’t confirmed wether must have features (like for example the ability to record demos and a good anti cheat) will be in the game.

ESL Pro Series offers over a grand (quite easily) every season for a number of games. There’s also eSports Heaven which has sponsors pumping money into it constantly and is currently running tournaments for QL, TF2 & CoD4 with a 2k prizepot.

The question asked for the last game, and you provided a list of games, games that even I know are rather old. Obviously you needed some help.

Threads are not exclusive to comp players.

lol “professional team.” Show up at the locally sponsored LANs with one of the only non-pug teams and win most of the high end prizes. After they give them out you’re all back in the seating asking everyone around if they’d like to buy the prizes off of you. Then an hour later you all leave and fly to some other LAN. Brings out the community fellowship of these events.
