So last night q came across a great section of the community which makes me hope we get more like them. So it all started in a game of SW on bridge I join to find that there’s is a cheat on my team, the chat was full of please kick him so my team did the impossible. They all actually voted for him to go, I’ve never seen this and it was pretty epic to see the whole server wanting to keep the scum out. But it doesn’t end there l, a game or 2 later we ran into some guy using the exp exploite. I seen that he was bragging about it in chat but his team were not impressed in fact they vote kicked him out the game instantly. I love this community, some great characters and people that care about the game. Anyone else with a cool/funny story community/game related?
The community
I joined a bit into a match on Trainyard, everyone was complaing about a guy hacking, I start a vote and he’s kicked immediately. Not sure why people didn’t kick him earlier. Went on to have a great close match that came down to the last second.
Yeah it feels great to have a whole server rebel against a cheat and then to go in and have a really fun game that you can enjoy just makes you think why aren’t there more people like this?
Oh, I got a simple answer for that. People do not know how to start votes.
http://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/New_Player’s_Guide#Voting (Heck, I had someone explain the ‘tab vote’ thing in game, and actually only discovered this ‘F5’ right now. Haven’t tested it yet.)
I think I was in that game. I was also in a Bridge match and after a brief discussion in all chat the enemy team all vote kicked some blatant hacker on their team. Though towards the end of the match one of them complained they should have kept him there for a free win (they lost pretty badly–either way, kudos to them for doing the right thing and getting whooped fair and square :P).
@wheatCar Why do people murder, cheat and steal? Everyone has a different motive to do bad things. Predicting humans motives is hard especially when the majority of cheaters are misfits.
Sometimes a player asks me why I did something and I tell them I’m hammered, then one by one everyone comes forward and it turns out the whole team was drunk too, even the guy who asked me. Good to have an army. A wasted army.

Possibly, I do love the community sometimes. Recently though there has been an increase in trolls…Some guy played the whole game melee only when everyone else was trying to ptfo. Wouldn’t be that bad if he was using phantom (because phantom players know no better) but no, he was using rhino.
Because they suck at actually playing and need a power trip that comes from using someone else’s power.
One of my favorite moments in DB, was when this Skyhammer on my team was running after me, throwing ammo packs at me, but missing them all.
So he said “Yo btch! Take the ammo.” in the most Jesse Pinkman way, so I stopped so he could catch up and throw a pack at me, after which he politely said “Thank you” and walked the other way.
I just find things like that hilarious, so it gave me a good chuckle.
I’ll take him over the usual Skyhammers on my team, anytime.
Once we can start hosting servers communities and regulars will form around them.
The community is solid and has a good hardcore fan base that all want the game to be the best it can be. Yes you can come across random d-bags that troll or cheat but every game has them. Coming across a lobby where you have teammates no matter if they are new or veterans that stick together and work as a team is amazing and not many games can pull that off.
Also, I think people get focused in game and actually miss the vote, I know its happened to me a few times.
Ive had good opponents who have kicked obvious hackers 2/3 times.
