Yes. It is. Because they’re still different, and it was done for fun. Stop being so entitled over two SIMILAR BUT VERY MUCH SO DIFFERENT trinkets. It’s very much so obvious which is which, you don’t lose anything over this.

We also knew that other trinkets in the future would have kill feed icons, again, this was specified at the time of Skullsplitter.

What do you mean by fair? If you willingly wanted to support them, that’s what the trinket was there for. Offer them some money and in return you got something to show for it. I don’t see how a free trinket is a spit in the face.

He is speaking about the fact that they release Skullsplitter, an animated Splitter for 5$. And like a month later a free trinket with almost the same visual effect.

Oh, I get that. Maybe I’m just seeing it differently: the skullsplitter was just another means to offer the devs some money, as opposed to buying the guarantee of being the only one with a trinket that has a killfeed. If they gave the actual skullspitter away for free, that’d be another story.

i’m trying to say …next time i’m going to think about how i spent these 5$. Not sure if i’m willing to buy something that will be released in a month time for free.

P.S SD why not rework and release all current trinkets for free? everyone will be happy … instead doing some new trinket

Because trinkets are event-specific, much like event skins, and should remain that way. You might as well ask for them to give everyone founder’s pack loadout cards because “everyone will be happy”, except for all the people who earned the founder’s pack.

The coalsplitter trinket was a callback to the What the Dickens? event because nobody was using the Coaly trinket anymore, and everyone seemed to like the Skullsplitter one.

Actually, it is. It was said on stream, it’s been said on Reddit and Discord, hell it was probably said here at one point. If it wasn’t true I wouldn’t have been saying that we’d most likely be seeing trinkets in the future with killfeed icons right as Skullsplitter was dropped.

Guys, cool it. The skullsplitter trinket basically says “I’m awesome, I support the development of this wonderful game.” no free trinket will ever say that
