You missed HL2: Episode 3.
The mercs are weapons are all pretty fleshed out and on par with each other for the most part. Usually “balance” issues are because of the gap between those with mechanical skill and game sense versus those without. For the most part, I tend to see a lot more newer players with some mechanical skill but with no game sense, which makes games highly unbalanced if even one player with good mechanical skill and game sense joins.
I’m not hating on either side here, as both are necessary for a game’s continual growth, but I would say if there was more retention on those players with good mechanical skill and game sense, there would be plenty more games of good players versus other good players, leaving more space for the weaker players to play against each other.
At least, that’s just what I believe. I’ve come back to playing DB again after what, half a year for playing OW? I still play it, but I’m seriously getting in that wall jumping mood again. Don’t be shy to say hi if you see me in game
