is the result of all the people that actually like the game, still playing it ; )
So don’t let the massive rant and ‘no lobby!!’ whiners obscure the view.

Yeah, and of the people who think they dont like it, i think is partially a result of them trying to play it the way they play other games.
A friend of mine was playing with his brother, who hated the game until my friend suggested he try playing as medic for a game or two, yet never fire a shot. After that, he started to appreciate the teamwork required to do well, and loves the game.
People can’t seem to understand that THE GAME IS THE LOBBY.
If you want to mess around and get all your friends together in a game, start a coop game and then once everyone is ready switch it over to multiplayer. The game will populate with random people.
This is not rocket science, yet apparently half the reviewers and most of the screaming bitching moaners on this forum have an inability to understand this.
I don’t get why the lack of a lobby is so important. Though I don’t game with friends so I wouldn’t understand, I only game with friends via LAN.
I dont know if the game will be fun or not.
I still have to wait for the european release despite it getting gifted by an american…
but I think people look way to much at the reviews…
99% of the negative points are pointless…
like crying about the story, the setting, the dialogue, the stupid bots, the lack of a real singleplayer, the cutscenes,he 360 streaming bug and so on…
I dont give a f**k about that, in fact I expected that already… it’s quite clear for anyone that watched the previews and so on.
It’s a multiplayer game, and I think bethesda/SD would’ve gotten WAY WAY WAY better reviews if they would’Ve advertised it as a multiplayer only game.
Keep people away from false expectations like the ones I listed…
instead they did the opposite, and reviewers were happy to criticize the game for things that were never intended to play a major role.
It’s your own fault and it makes me think what kind of people actually work at the bethesda marketing department…
Im 21 and unemployed and I seem to understand more about advertising than they do.
Im not mad at the game, but mad at bethesda/splashdmg for making that mistake.
If they would’ve advertised it as a pure multiplayer game reviewers may have ignored the stupid bots, the lacking story, the not existing single player campaign and would’ve focussed more on multiplayer and it’s gameplay.
I appreciate you putting ‘seem’ in there.
If you advertise your game as mpplayer only, you cut down a significant portion of the potential sales - mostly from console sunday players that are not interested in MP gaming.
‘maybe’ better reviews - definitely worse sales?

Great, people will learn to avoid games made bethesda/splash damage then…
It’s better for the initial sales/pre-orders, but it will backfire.
The game is just released in america, the rest of the world can still easily cancel their pre-orders.
Not going to mention that the reviews will now dampen the sales after its release…
Lying to your customers is never a good idea in the long run.
Bethesda couldnt care less, they’re not in danger.
splash damage on the other hand is independent.
edit: and why MAYBE better reviews?
they pretty much forced the media to concentrate on the things the game is the weakest in…
if they advertise it, they better make sure it’s true, otherwise you’re inviting them to bash the game.
you have no knowledge of how many people will buy the game only for the sp part; and how many of them will enjoy it.
We also do not know how those particular reviews will affect the sales, as there is surely a lot more to come (a lot of the release reviews were done pre-day1 patch
‘maybe’ because : reviews might address other problems and/or still judge the lack/poor SP.
I just find it tiring to see over and over people that, having a simplified idea of marketing and economics make claims like that.
I do not say you are wrong. But I doubt that all of this issues were not considered by whoever is responsible for marketing at SD/Bethesda.
Just frustrated and I dont think through every comment I make 100times.
I dont even care about the sales.
I just dont want a potentially good multiplayer game die because of greed.
I dont want this game to dissappear.
Good marketing or bad marketing,
the point is they were LYING, wich may be benificial to sales, but it sure as hell isnt a good thing for the people that actually buy the game.
