The anti-cheat system...

(Patrol1985) #1

So I’ve just played a competitive match. There was a cheater in the enemy team - he played Aura and it took him just 5 shotgun shots to eliminate our whole team (1 shot per person)… and guess what happened - I got kicked out due to “security violation”. Naturally, the cheater remained on the server, probably laughing to tears. I’m trying really hard right now to recall any other online game which has humiliated me as much as Dirty Bomb did today… thus far I can think of none. The kicker? The dude didn’t even try to hide the fact. He knows he’s basically untouchable:

Gonna remove the image here, as it technically violates our “no name and shame” rule. Other than that though, it really sucks that that happened… :frowning:

(Patrol1985) #3

Too bad, as the “name and shame” is the only thing that might somehow work to ostracize those guys as the anti-cheat system kicks out “normal” players. The forum rules protect the cheaters too. Not how I pictured online gaming in 2015… sighs

(Mr-Penguin) #4

Did you report the cheater?

(Patrol1985) #5

Yes, using the game’s internal report system. I also urged others on the server to do it too.

(Nail) #6

NGS is getting a look at, hopefully something by end of month

(Amerika) #7

Naming and shaming doesn’t work because you can easily change your name or ditch an account. If somebody used your name, Patrol1985, and went around cheating on every single server how would you feel about it? That’s the point of the rule…not to protect people cheating but to protect people who aren’t cheating.

Sucks that you ran into a cheater. Sadly it’s been a thing in every single game ever made going on 20+ years now :frowning:

I will just leave this here

Literally just mentioned in this thread that naming and shaming is not allowed.

Send the video here https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/requests/new if you want to get him banned, no use in posting it on forums and violating the no naming and shaming rule.

(Gildoania) #10

Meh if they are more interested in this stupid naming and shaming rule than go after people who are actually ruining their game, that is all on them. i provided the video, they can do what they want with it.

(N8o) #11

The reason they have the rule is to stop the mass amount of hack-u-sations that would go around. If I could just put up a name and a video of the player using that name and get them banned, it could be abused heavily. It’s better to just report the steam profile and let SD get the ECHO stats on them.

(Trigonias) #12

This is getting truly tiresome. I have NOT modified the game in any way and I have NO other applications running in the background other than Steam. Yet, this continues to occur - and it has only been happening since the introduction of the NGS. My personal guess is that this aspect of gaming development needs a speed and extensive overhaul to resolve. Meantime, the litany from players like myself gets larger and more acrimonious with each passing day. If it isn’t resolved soon, then it is likely that this game [despite some really excellent features and incredible game play] will go the way of the dinosaurs.

Had this exact issue in a pub match the other night, with the same hacker as Gildoania’s video. “Played” 3 games or so with this guy, toward the end of the third one I get booted for security violation. Ran into him again today, thankfully he did not stay long.

(Faraleth) #14

@Gildoania As other users have said, no naming and shaming please. Thank you @AggressiveHamster for pointing him/her in the right direction.

@Trig

That thread explains why you are getting the error message and kicked from the match. You will not be banned for these violations. They are being tracked and legitimate players will have no long term effects applied to their account. It is an error within NGS. Not anything that was detected on your computer or in your gameplay.

(Jostabeere) #16

In the last 3 days after I encountered one obvious aimboter, u know who I mean Faraleth  , there are more and more of them. Running stock Vassili, low-level account, noscoping everyone. NGS should really do something about them.

(Trigonias) #17

Over 3 months now since the introduction of NGS and the only thing it seems to be good at is kicking legitimate players out of the game for no reason while at the same time not awarding any of the experience points or credits because … wait for it… you have violated the game security. Because you’re a bad boy. Only, you’re not. No apology, no kiss and make up, no awarding of lost points. I have NOT purchased any in-game credit boosters since this started because it would be like voluntarily setting fire to your own money to no good end. Sounding like a broken record? Well, that’s probably because it is… broken I mean. WHEN WHEN WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THIS?

(uWotm8-AU) #18

Yeah, NGS really needs to have an update.

Some of the new hack features are ridiculous.

Force disconnect is just not acceptable.

And don’t say it’s a NGS problem with the servers or something.

People can literally disconnect people at will.

What the hell are you talking about? You are saying that people in the game are disconnecting other people in the same game? By this, are you referring to the “Vote to Kick” option? If so, yes, we are all aware of that legitimate method. But you seem to be implying that one person can kick another? I don’t believe that is possible. Remember Hanlon’s Razor: “Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” The game developers have stupidly allowed this problem to go on for far too long and it’s time they rolled up their collective sleeves and resolved it!

Can a mod please close this necro?
